Learn how to earn Area Points quickly to advance Area Rank efficiently in Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time.
Ginormosia, the main map of Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time, is divided into 15 regions. Each region has a tower that you can discover to unlock fast travel and upgrade the Area Rank.
Area Ranks (AR) dictate the level of enemy and item spawns within a particular region. All regions start at AR 1 and can be leveled up to a maximum of AR 7. To rank them up, you need to collect Area Points (AP) by completing challenges that spawn within the regions. While ranking up from AR 1 to AR 2 requires only 100 points, upgrading from AR 6 to AR 7 costs 150,000 points. This can make ranking up areas feel extremely grindy, but there is a way to increase leveling efficiency while earning valuable loot.
How To Increase Area Rank in Fantasy Life i
To increase Area Rank in a particular region, head over to its tower and interact with it. At the top of the menu, right below the region’s name, you can select the AR level you want to switch to. If you want to rank up, choose the next AR from the one you have unlocked. Then, press “Upgrade.” You can only switch back to a lower AR by selecting it and clicking “Change.”
How To Earn Area Points Quickly in Fantasy Life i
Ranking up until Area Rank 3 is relatively easy, only requiring 1,000 Area Points. However, reaching AR 4 and beyond requires serious grinding. There are a few approaches to doing this efficiently, but nothing can eliminate the grind entirely.
Legendary Challenges
Once you reach AR 3, legendary spawns begin to appear on the map, marked with light blue icons. These spawns, such as the Legendary Don Woolie and Legendary Rocket Fish, drop materials needed to unlock endgame items like the Time Weapons and Tools.
Defeating legendary spawns and completing Legendary Challenges will award you 1,000 Area Points for the respective region. This is the most AP you can earn from a single event. If you don’t see any Legendary Challenges on the map, just change the AR of a particular region (above 3) to reset the spawns. This has a chance of spawning Legendary Challenges. Once they appear, legendary spawns will remain even after you lower a region’s AR below 3.
Therefore, to farm Legendary Challenges, get all regions of the map to AR 3. Then, simply switch the AR of any one region to reroll the spawns until you get a legendary spawn. It should take you one or two rerolls to spawn a Legendary Challenge on the map.
The major downside of this approach is that it is harder to focus on leveling up one particular region of the map, as the legendary spawns can appear in any region at AR 3 or above. The alternative is to complete regular challenges in an area for a few hundred AP before respawning them.
