Bananergy in Donkey Kong Bananza is required to transform DK into one of his Bananza forms. These Bananza Transformations are unlocked by visiting all the giant Elders present throughout the Layers

Frequent transformations are essential for progressing through the game swiftly, as the forms provide various boosts to combat and exploration. As a result, learning how to gather Bananergy quickly is ideal for taking on the increasingly difficult layers and bosses in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Donkey Kong Bananza: All Methods to Increase Bananergy

The level of Bananergy is visible in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the transformation icon is ablaze, Bananergy is full, and you can transform by holding the L and R shoulder buttons. To extend the transformation time, invest skill points in the Bananergy Level 1 to Bananergy Level 4 skills.

Gold and Banandium Chips

The most common and straightforward way to fill up on Bananergy is to collect gold and Banandium Chip. Destroy nearby terrain and objects to gather up gold. Banandium Chips are hidden around the map, usually in the ground or walls.

Melon Juice

Collect or buy Melon Juice cans to top up your Bananergy instantly. Melon Juice is a consumable item and purchasable from the Stuff Shop. Since they fill up Bananergy completely, save Melon Juice cans for boss fights.

Banandium Gems

Obtaining a Banandium Gem instantly fills up the Bananergy meter. These limited giant banana-shaped gems spawn in specific locations across each map. Collecting them grants DK the skill points required to learn new abilities.

Banandium Melons

Found in a few locations around the map, Banandium Melons are an infinite source of Bananergy. Attacking the giant melons recharges Bananergy, and they never run out.

Getaways

Sleeping in a bed at a Getaway recharges Bananergy completely and replenishes health. You can build multiple Getaways in each Layer by paying Architectones. They allow DK to rest, change outfits, shop, and fast-travel between them.

Outfits and Clothes

Some clothes increase the amount of Bananergy you gather through the collection of gold and Banandium Chips. Examples include the Battle Bow Tie and Bananergy Tie. Once you have these clothes, their upgraded versions are purchasable at the Stuff Shop.
