Path of Exile 2 offers more ways to explore your skills to try out various builds. Unlocking additional skill slots/sockets allows you to add more skills or support gems in the skill socket. As the name suggests, the support gems support your skill gems, adding extra effects to the skill.

However, you will start the game with only 2 slots for support gems, which might suffice during the early gameplay but won’t help in the long run. Luckily, there is a way to increase your support gems slot, and here is how to do it.

You can unlock additional slots for support gems with a special item called Lesser Jeweller’s Orb. However, there are several versions of Jeweller’s Orb, and each is required for a specific tier of support slots.

For instance, the Lesser Jeweller’s Orb is used for a skill gem with only two slots. Using the item unlocks the third Support Gem Slot to the skill gem. However, a higher-tier Jeweller’s Orb unlocks additional slots and expands the skillset.

The Jeweller’s Orb is a type of item used to unlock the skill sockets/slots in Path of Exile 2. These are obtained through vendor recipes or trading or commonly dropped from defeating enemies. You will get your first Lesser Jeweller’s Orb during Act 3 of the game as a random drop. Unlocking skill slots and support gem slots offers you a flexible way to try out various builds and improve their effectiveness.

Path of Exile 2 is the sequel to Grinding Gear Games’ 2013 hit ARPG. The Early Access for the sequel launched recently. Although the full version is free to play, you need to purchase any of the six supporter packs to get early access.
