The Forest is a nightmare brought down to Earth. This treacherous land is filled with cannibals, dangerous wildlife, and various contraptions, all out to kill you. Nowhere is safe, and when cornered, fighting back is your only way to survive. The Forest gives you various ways to defend yourself, with a bow being a ranged way of doing so.
The bow is one of the best weapons in the game and, naturally, requires an abundance of arrows to be of use. The arrows are useful not only for defending yourself but also for hunting wildlife and gathering crafting resources. How To Make Arrows
You make arrows in The Forest by crafting. There are multiple types of arrows in the game, each of which requires different ingredients. The arrows and their crafting ingredients are as follows:
- Arrows: 1x Stick and 5x Feathers.
- Bone Arrows: 1x Stick, 5x Feathers and 5x Bones.
- Fire Arrows: 5x Arrows, 1x Cloth and 1x Booze.
- Poison Arrows: 5x Arrows and 4x Berries or Mushrooms (Snow/Twin Berries/Jack Mushroom/Amanita Mushroom).
Each of these arrows offers varying offensive capabilities and complements different playstyles. The base arrows require sticks and feathers to craft. These arrows are the ones you’ll be using in the early stretch of the game and the ones you need to know how to craft. They are also useful as they later serve as ingredients for the Fire and Poison arrows in the game.
Crafting the Arrows
As stated earlier, you craft these base arrows using 1x Stick and 5x Feathers. Sticks are fairly easy to find and are abundant on the game’s map. The easiest way to get sticks is to approach any tree and cut it down. The trees can give you anywhere between 2x to 4x Sticks, keeping you stocked up plenty. Alternatively, you also find the ingredients while exploring the villages and beachside locations.
Feathers, too, are fairly easy to find and are dropped by flying birds. You can also hunt the birds or build a birdhouse to obtain feathers quickly.
With the ingredients in hand, open up your inventory by pressing ‘I’. Hover the cursor over the sticks and press RMB to select them. Select the feathers the same way, and then press RMB over the crafting mat to combine the ingredients and make arrows.
