Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s latest fantasy RPG, features diverse playstyles, including melee-focused and magic-focused builds. By mixing and matching various weapons and techniques, you can experiment with different setups. As you journey across the Living Lands, you may want to switch builds at some point for a fresh playstyle that suits your strategy.

How To Reset Points in Avowed
Resetting points in Avowed is pretty straightforward, as it doesn’t require any NPC interaction or farming of specific items. Instead, you can easily respec via the character menu. In Avowed, you can reset your Attribute Points, Ability Points, and Companion Points individually.
Attribute Points
- Pause the Game and go to the Character tab.
- Locate the Reset Points in the lower left corner.
- Use the specified amount of Coins to reset your Attribute Points.
Ability Points
- Pause the Game and go to the Abilities tab
- You will find the Reset Points option in the lower left corner
- You do not need to reset each skill tree individually, instead, the option resets all your Ability points at once.
- Use the specified amount of Coins to reset the Ability Points.
Companion Points
- In the Abilities tab, navigate to the final section, ‘Companions’, to access the companions’ skill tree.
- Choose the companion whose points you want to reset.
- The reset point option is located under their name.
- Reset the points of the specific companion by spending the coins.

How Respec Costs Work in Avowed?
As mentioned earlier, respeccing in Avowed costs Coins. Resetting the points is free when you start the journey, but as you level up and invest more skill points, the cost increases. Initially, it costs around 100, 250, or 500 Coins and gradually increases as you progress. Moreover, resetting Attribute Points is significantly more expensive than resetting Ability Points. Once you reach higher levels, the respec costs can range between 2,000 to 3,000 Coins, making it a costly process.
