There are many characters that are not quite easy to unlock in Mario Kart World, one of them being Coin Coffer.
Mario Kart World has a large roster of racers you can drive around with. These range from iconic ones like Mario and Luigi, lesser-known ones like Dry Bones and Monty Mole, to many others.
One of these characters you can unlock in-game is the Coin Coffer. Here is how to unlock this character in Mario Kart World.

Coin Coffer Unlock Requirements in Mario Kart World
This character is part of a series of characters that can only be unlocked via Kamek’s Transformational Power. However, do note that this does not mean that you have to be the one using this power.
Contrary to what you would expect, you have to be on the receiving end of this power for Coin Coffer to be unlocked. Therefore, it can be quite difficult to get this character due to two main reasons:
- You have to rely on someone else obtaining this item and using it on you. This makes unlocking this character quite luck-based.
- Secondly, on top of luck, you must also have a decent amount of skill. This is because Kamek’s power only hits targets ahead of its user. Therefore, your best chance is to stay ahead of the pack and in first place. This should significantly increase your chances of becoming the target of this power.
However, that’s not the end of it. Kamek’s transformation depends on the course you are participating in. Different courses will have different transformations. Here are some of the courses where Kamek should transform you into the Coin Coffer:
- Rainbow Road
- Mario Circuit
- Boo Cinema
- Cheep Cheep Falls
- DK Spaceport
Once you are the target of Kamek and transform into Coin Coffer during the race, you will unlock it as a permanent character. This process remains mostly the same for some other characters in the game.

Being a lightweight racer, here are the stats for this character:
- Speed: 1.8
- Acceleration: 2.4
- Weight: 1.6
- Handling: 2.2
