Fast-Talk is a useful ability to have throughout Kay’s adventures, and you can unlock it early on in Star Wars Outlaws.

In Star Wars Outlaws, Fast-Talk is an unlockable ability under Bram the Bartender’s Expert skill tree. Bram’s Expert skill tree is opened up automatically during Kay’s first mission on Canto Bight. Fast-Talk is a mulligan ability for when someone catches Kay Vess where she shouldn’t be. If Kay is caught by a single person, quickly press the appropriate key or button to distract the detainer for a quick moment. While they are distracted, Kay can quickly stun them with her blaster, order Nix to attack them, or rush them with a melee attack. This allows her to go back into stealth without having to go completely loud.

Normally, this ability can only be used against a single enemy. Upgrade to work against multiple enemies with the Keep Talking skill, also found in Bram’s Expert skill Tree.

Unlock Conditions for Fast-Talk

Unlocking Fast-Talk requires no prerequisite abilities. While not the easiest of Bram’s abilities to unlock, it is potentially the earliest one that can be. To unlock it, you must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Use takedown on three distracted enemies.
  • Defeat five enemies with melee.

How to Unlock Fast-Talk in Star Wars Outlaws

To unlock Fast-Talk in Star Wars Outlaws, you must use takedowns on three distracted enemies and defeat five enemies with melee. While it does take a bit of planning and patience, this ability can be unlocked before you finish the Outlaws mission on Canto Bight in Sliro’s Mansion. These steps can be done simultaneously and in any order. You can complete this part in the first courtyard at Sliro’s Mansion.

To takedown distracted enemies, Kay must initiate something to actively distract them. The easiest way to do this is to initiate a distraction command with Nix, allowing Kay to sneak up behind them and take them out. Do this successfully against three opponents to complete the step. Note that you can only distract one enemy at a time, and you cannot use the attack command to do this step.

The second step to unlock Fast-Talk unlocks almost passively. Any melee takedown counts. This includes all-out brawls, stealth take-downs, or take-downs assisted by Nix. The takedowns of distracted also count for this step if they are done with melee attacks, allowing you to double dip. Take out five separate enemies with Kay’s fist to complete this step.

After you have completed all of the required steps, the game will prompt you to unlock Fast-Talk on the ability screen. Go to Bram’s ability tree, select Fast-Talk, and click the unlock button. Congratulations, you now have one of the best abilities to have in the early game.
