Back in 2016, Cody Rhodes left WWE after feeling his character was being underutilized. He travelled the world during this time, competing in world-renowned wrestling circuits such as Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling). It was after this that he co-founded AEW alongside Tony Khan, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks.
Cody Rhodes describes the time from 2016 to 2022 as a period of introspection. He wanted to prove to himself that he could stand outside of his father’s shadow. This journey proved to be a career-defining moment for Cody Rhodes.
What Is the Throne Smasher Entrance?
Cody Rhodes was going to face his brother Dustin Rhodes for the first time in AEW. They had previously faced each other once back in the WWE under the names Goldust and Stardust. This match was going to prove to be an emotional experience for the brothers as well as the fans.
To everyone’s surprise, Cody Rhodes made his entrance alongside the Iron Cross throne, which symbolized HHH’s in-ring character. It was what Cody did next that shocked the world. During the entrance, he walks out and is handed a sledgehammer by his wife, Brandy Rhodes. He then takes this throne and proceeds to break the throne as the world looks in awe. This moment is still etched into the minds of fans to this day.
How To Unlock the Throne Smasher Entrance in WWE 2K25?
Including the throne-smashing entrance in WWE 2K25 was a great gesture. This entrance can easily be unlocked within the MyRise game mode. After the Survivor Series PPV event, choosing either of the created wrestlers will change the direction of your story and the rewards you get. To unlock the entrance, you have to choose the second character whose goal is to betray and join the Mutiny. This will unlock the Conquer story mode.
No additional choices are required after that decision. You will unlock this entrance alongside other rewards such as characters, arenas, and attribute points once you end the final match. This is a great callback to his time back in AEW.
