Forsen’s community’s constant complaints about DEI annoyed the streamer, prompting him to ban multiple viewers.

Twitch streamer Sebastian “Forsen” Fors was playing Avowed on February 18, 2025, when several viewers complained about DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity). The streamer was bothered by the constant complaints and asked his mods to ban everyone complaining.

There is an ongoing discourse in the gaming community about DEI elements in games. A part of the gaming community sees same-sex relationships, pronouns, political messaging, and women-only protagonists as DEI. Avowed has same-sex relationships in the game, which prompted Forsen’s chat to complain about the game.

Forsen called out his community and told his mods to ban everyone complaining about the game. He also asked his mods to stop anyone from using loopholes to get their anti-DEI messaging across.

Forsen Bans Multiple Viewers for Their Anti-DEI Comments

Despite the DEI-related criticism, Avowed became one of the top-selling games on Steam after its release. Forsen played the game on stream, and his chat was flooded with complaints. The streamer does not normally moderate his chat, but he seemed upset at his chat’s behavior and banned multiple viewers. He said:

“Mods…yeah, f*cking ban these motherf*ckers, alright? I don’t care if they’re being sarcastic. If they’re trying to do anything through a loophole just ban them. If you’re not sure if you should ban them or not, ban them.”

Despite the complaints from fans, the streamer played the game and enjoyed it. Most critics enjoyed the game, and the game has an 80% Metacritic score and an 82% OpenCritic score. Steam reviews are also very positive, with an 81% “Mostly Positive” rating on the platform.

The Streamer Commented on DEI Practices in Video Games

Earlier this month, the streamer faced similar complaints from his chat. Forsen reacted to YouTuber The Act Man’s “Every Video Game Is Woke Apparently” video. Act Man talks about how people are quick to brand everything “DEI” or “woke” in the gaming community.

Forsen watched the video and shared similar sentiments. He told his audience:

“I don’t give a sh*t about any of the people working on a game. I don’t care about behind-the-scenes sh*t. I played a game, and I judged a game based on the game. The biggest snowflakes I know aren’t the DEI friends, it’s the people crying “DEI!””

While Forsen said he does not mind DEI elements in games, other content creators are vocal about the issue. Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt and YouTuber Melonie Mac are two notable creators who call out DEI elements and want them removed. Different opinions from content creators have further split the gaming community on the matter.
