Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PC system requirements have been revealed alongside the official release date.
The PC system requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are currently live on Steam, alongside its pre-order details. Developed by MachineGames, the studio behind the modern Wolfenstein titles, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a first-person action-adventure game with some light puzzle-platforming elements. Much like the Wolfenstein games, MachineGames’ upcoming title is built using the id Tech engine, albeit the most modern revision of it.
The PC system requirements mentioned by MachineGames and publisher Bethesda Softworks seem to hint at it being a more improved version of Doom Eternal’s id Tech 7. The game seems to be heavily GPU-bound with the minimum requirement being an RTX 2060 Super equivalent with 8 gigabytes of VRAM.
Oddly enough, as of writing this article, MachineGames has only mentioned the minimum system requirements, with the recommended tab being empty. This isn’t the first time a Bethesda-published game has done this, with previous examples being Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop as well as Betheda’s very own Starfield. However, it’s still a bit surprising.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle system requirements
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s minimum requirements mention that you will need at least an AMD Ryzen 5 or Intel Core i7 alongside an Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD RX 6600 equivalent, to run the game. However, the developers or Bethesda do not mention the target framerate or resolution for these specifications. Here’s a list of the minimum system requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle:
Minimum system requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i7 @3.3GHz or better | AMD Ryzen 5 @3.1Ghz or better
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 8 (GB) | AMD Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB)
- Additional Notes: SSD required
Judging from the minimum system requirements, it seems MachineGames as well as id Software has made some significant improvements to the id Tech engine. The minimum requirements for Indiana Jones even surpass the recommended specifications for Doom Eternal, which is quite surprising.
However, given it’s a current-gen-only title, the significant bump in system requirements does feel somewhat justified. Additionally, it seems the game is going to take full advantage of the current-gen systems as it foregoes traditional HDD in favor of fast SSDs. As for the game’s file size, that’s yet to be officially announced by Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled to be released on December 9, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Surprisingly enough, the game is also set to be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025. However, no confirmed release date for the PS5 version has been given by Bethesda Softworks of MachineGames.
The game is offered in two different editions digitally – a $70 Standard Edition and a $100 Premium Edition. The Standard Edition comes with the base game as well as the Last Crusade Pack which includes the Traveling Suit Outfit and the Lion Tamer Whip. The Premium Edition, on the other hand, comes with everything that’s included in the Standard Edition alongside the following extras:
- The Order of Giants (Story DLC, to be released post-launch)
- Temple of Doom Outfit
- Digital Artbook
Furthermore, pre-ordering the Premium Edition grants you 3-day Advanced Access, i.e., early access.
