MindsEye’s Deluxe Edition is on offer for free as a pre-ordering bonus, including extra missions, exclusive skins, and a Premium Pass.
The debut title of Build A Rocket Boy, MindsEye is a third-person shooter slated for a June 10, 2025, release. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game emanates from a dystopian sci-fi near-future where AI and crime have become an overwhelming scourge upon the world. MindsEye promises a cinematic single-player campaign, blending cover-based gunfights, hacking, car races, and narrative intrigue. One of the offerings ahead of release is the Pre-Order bonus, which offers the game’s Deluxe Edition for free. But is it actually worth the blind buy?
What Is Included in MindsEye’s Pre-Order Deluxe Edition?
The Deluxe Edition of MindsEye comes packed with both cosmetic and gameplay-enhancing content. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition secures an automatic upgrade, granting access to:
- Premium Pass: A yearlong content roadmap featuring bonus missions and cosmetic packs.
- “Deluxe” Yellowjacket Weapon: A unique skin for the Thorn & Kepler firearm.
- “Future” Jacob Vest Skin: A futuristic outfit for protagonist Jacob Diaz.

Should You Pre-Order MindsEye for the Free Deluxe Edition?
For players interested in more than just the base story, the Deluxe Edition adds meaningful post-launch value. The inclusion of future missions and challenges extends the game’s replayability beyond the initial campaign. The horde mode in particular offers a different type of combat encounter, providing an additional layer of gameplay variety.
However, to see if the Deluxe Edition is worth pre-ordering, you need to determine if you will be interested in what the game offers. So far, MindsEye has not inspired confidence in the gaming community, with a very late gameplay reveal and no early access for reviewers.
MindsEye’s live stream event, which was attended by content creators, did not help the game’s case much either. Attendees acknowledged its art direction, but were concerned about the bland game design. When asked about negative responses to MindsEye, the Co-CEO of Build A Rocket Boy claimed that bots were attacking the project and influencers were being paid to criticize the game online.
Such events raise red flags and dissuade interested players from pre-ordering the game. If what you have seen of the game so far has convinced you about its quality, pre-ordering may be worth your while, as it offers the Deluxe Edition for free. If not, you can still buy the game after its reviews are out, to make a more informed decision.
