After hyping up a One Piece streaming marathon in January 2025, YouTube streamer Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. finally gave his fans an update. He said he is still planning to stream the anime but is unsure whether to broadcast all episodes in one continuous session or split them into multiple streams.

The One Piece anime has over 1,100 episodes. Speed estimated that streaming the entire show would take him 14 days of continuous broadcasting. Meaning, that he would need to keep the stream running even while sleeping if he intended to complete the marathon within two weeks.

The anime follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. It holds multiple world records that highlight its success and longevity. Speed frequently discusses the series and has reportedly spent over $100,000 on a One Piece-themed bedroom.

When Will IShowSpeed Stream One Piece?

During a livestream on February 20, 2025, a viewer asked IShowSpeed when fans could expect the One Piece marathon stream. While he confirmed his intent to stream the anime, he did not commit to a particular date or how he would be approaching it. He responded:

“It would take me 14 days y’all. It would take me 14 days to do the One Piece marathon. Let me know if I should do it. 14 days to watch the full episodes so I have to keep going. So when I sleep, chat the episodes would have to keep on going.”

Speed is interested in doing a marathon stream, but mentioned that he needs time to plan it properly. He has been traveling worldwide for his vlog content, meaning fans will need to wait a little longer for the One Piece stream.

Speed Allegedly Received Streaming Rights From One Piece’s Producer

During a livestream on January 4, 2025, IShowSpeed told his audience that he met One Piece’s producer. He claimed to have recorded the conversation as proof and assured fans that he would be streaming the anime soon. The streamer said:

“Chat, I met the producer of One Piece. Right? And chat, guess what she said? Guess what the producer of One Piece said, y’all. She said she will let me stream all- she will whitelist my channel for me to stream all the One Piece episodes on my channel.”

Speed shared his excitement to stream One Piece episodes to his fans and added:

“So, chat, I will be able to watch One Piece episodes without getting copyrighted on my channel. And chat, nobody never gotten that, chat. Yo, chat, nobody has never gotten that. No YouTuber, streamer, Twitch or whatever, chat. Nobody has never gotten that.”

Speed has previously credited One Piece for helping him through depression during the pandemic and claimed that the anime “saved his life.” He also expressed his desire to meet Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. With his recent connection to the anime’s producer, this dream may soon become a reality.
