The new Yakuza spin-off game just dropped its demo for fans to play for free. The demo put us in the middle of the story to experience a short snippet of everything the main game will bring.
The demo started in Honolulu, Hawaii, but transitioned and ended in Madlantis. There were some fun activities to do alongside the main story. Here is everything the demo has to offer.
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Story Demo

The demo takes place somewhere in the early part of the story. We start the demo in Hawaii, when the Goromaru brings the Goro Pirates to the shore. Here, Captain Majima disembarks, and we are put into a short combat tutorial.
The game teaches you the basic combos of both styles, Mad Dog and Sea Dog. The combat is extremely fast-paced, and switching out of styles is a fluid process. We can also test out the madness gauge for both these styles.
Following these short fights we can explore the entire city of Honolulu, Hawaii. We can also get on top of a Street Surfer to move around faster.
After you are done exploring Honolulu and finishing whatever activities you want to do, you can head over to Madlantis, the ship graveyard.
Madlantis

This place is ruled by Queen Michele. You arrive here in search of a man named Keith. After a small fight upon arrival, you are told to enter the pirate coliseum. Here, you will get the first taste of a naval battle against the Grey Pirates.
This tutorial will teach you the basics of naval warfare, so try to pay attention. After emerging victorious, the location for Keith will become marked on the map. Head to the location to confront Keith (alongside his crew).
This is the final boss for the demo, so throw everything you have learned till now at him. Finally, the demo will end right after this boss fight.
What Activities Does the Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Demo Contain?
![Finish 'Most Wanted' missions for rewards (Image via SEGA)](https://static.deltiasgaming.com/2025/02/Activity.jpg)
There are a bunch of activities you can immerse yourself in. The main story can take a back seat while you are enjoying the side content the game has to offer. The demo contains various ‘Most Wanted’ bounties you can participate in.
Moreover, you can change your outfit in the Revolve Bar. This is also the same location where you can perform various karaoke songs that are available in the demo.
Outside the Revolve Bar, we have various food stores where Majima can eat and replenish his energy. There are also some shops where you can stock up on any Staminan and Tauriner bottles you may need.
You can also take on ‘Most Wanted’ missions to get a sizeable reward. You have to beat the bounty enemy to claim the respective reward. There are at least four of these missions in the demo, three in Honolulu and the other in Madlantis.
Lastly, you can also make friends with various NPCs. The process could be simple for some, such as emoting near them. However, it could be slightly complicated for others. For example, to become friends with a dog, you have to feed it. There are likely various options you can choose to feed the dog; however, we know that the sandwich works fine.
How Long Is the Demo?
![Don't let the fun stop! (Image via SEGA)](https://static.deltiasgaming.com/2025/02/Long.jpg)
The demo is not very long and can likely be completed within an hour or two. However, players can choose to ignore the story and instead choose to explore both the locations available to them. Additionally, players should also note that you CANNOT make a save file during the demo. So every time you open the demo, it’ll be a fresh start.
There is theoretically no end to the demo, as long as you don’t progress with the main story. Nothing is stopping you from practicing naval combat in the pirate coliseum again and again.
If you are on the fence about buying this game, perhaps the demo can help you make a decision. The demo has already been released on most platforms, so be sure to give it a try.
