Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is filled with many fun mini-games. And one of the most engaging among them is Dragon Kart. It is a game where you will sit in some small racing cars and race through the streets of Hawaii.
We admit that you will find some similarities with Mario Kart in terms of the gameplay and some of the design choices, but make no mistake, Dragon Kart is its own thing with many new additions such as the Elimination Duel Mode. Additionally, you will have three Grand Prix and some other challenges to complete during this mini-game, so without any more delay, let’s look at the details.
How To Play Dragon Kart In Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
To play Dragon Kart, first, we will need to locate it. The starting point for both the mini-game and the associated substory will be near the Anaconda Harbor Park, on the southwest corner of your map. It will be marked on the map like the picture above, so look for it, and you won’t miss it. When you reach the location, you will find a female employee named Ran, standing beside the karts under the Dragon Kart sign. Talk to her, and she will give the basic information on the popular Dragon Kart races.
Don’t worry, the mini-game is not a hardcore simulation, and it leans heavily on the arcade-y approach. The controls are quite simple as well, and we will give you a chart below so you can easily remember it.

All Modes In Dragon Kart
There are a total of three modes in Dragon Kart, which are Grand Prix, Time Attack, and Duels. During the course of the mini-game, you will have three Grand Prix, nine Time Attacks, and five duels. However, most of them won’t be available at first, and you will need to fulfill some requirements to unlock them. So, we will give you a rundown on all of the modes and requirements to unlock them below:
Grand Prix
Grand Prix are your standard races. During these, you will be racing against other NPCs to cross the finish line first in order to win a Cup.

Time Attacks

Duels
The duel mode will be named “???” at first, and you will have to speak to your rival besides Ran after winning the Resort Cup to unlock it. Duels won’t be like Grand Prix or the Time Attacks. These special races will take place on a much smaller track. All of the racers will have weapons on them because the primary objective of duels is to destroy your opponent’s health. Think of it like a battle royale where the last racer standing wins.

The duels are challenging, to say the least. You will have to remain focused throughout all of them. Make sure that you don’t drive into an enemy’s crossfire, because your car will be destroyed if they successfully land a few hits. Lastly, we recommend that you keep an eye on your minimap at all times to stay aware of your surroundings.
How To Unlock More Karts?
The only way to unlock more Dragon Kart is to win your duels. There are some great Karts you can acquire that can make the Time Attacks way easier. But we can’t just leave you like that, so we will list the Karts and the conditions to unlock them here:
