The Minato Girls sub-stories in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii present hilarious quests and an outlandish finale, even by the series’ lofty standards.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii carries on the franchise tradition of featuring some refreshingly bizarre quests, and the Minato Girls substory may take the cake as the longest and most eccentric questline of them all.
Consisting of several sub-stories, its missions lead you on a vibrant adventure across Honolulu, concluding with 30 minutes of live-action dating cutscenes sure to give you second-hand embarrassment. Beyond its novelty, the quest is quite rewarding for progression as it adds some high-level crew members to your pirate ship.
The substory’s initial cutscene is triggered after your battle with Saejima on Nele Island in Chapter 3. While sailing back to Honolulu, you discover that Masaru has a dream of dating a Minato girl. The loyal sailor is devoted to success with the crew, but he has become lovesick and longs to go on a date with a Minato girl.
The Minato Ward in Japan is known for its residents living a posh life of luxury, and the term “Minato girl” refers to a woman who embodies the elegance and grace of one who seems like they hail from the ward. Being the doting and empathetic captain he is, Majima decides to find a Minato girl for Masaru.
The Complete My Dream Minato Girl Guide

After defeating Kobayashi in the main story, you’ll receive an objective to ask Kei and the bartender about Minato girls. Heading to Revolve, talk to Kei, and you will be introduced to the resident alcoholic, Machiko-san. She trades the whereabouts of five Minato girls with you in exchange for clearing her $10,000 bar tab. This will lead to the completion of the My Dream Minato Girl substory and begin five new substories, one corresponding to each Minato girl.
1) Ena, #MyNewFriend Substory

A cosplayer, Ena can be found by the pool at the Crystal Aloha Resort where she concludes filming and is approached by a sleazy producer. Denying his request to attend a party with him, she flees the scene. You’ll need to head to the east side of Waikiki Street and can take a cab to Makani Avenue. There, you’ll find Ena being harassed by three guys: a dumb man, an idiotic man, and a foolish man.
After thanking you by buying you a drink and chatting for a while, Ena will head to Polaris. Upon following her there, you will be refused entry into the establishment. Inside, Ena is cornered by the producer and his goons, but Majima busts in wearing a mask, and a fight will begin with Ena backing you up. After beating the three brawlers, Ena will share her contact information with you, and the #MyNewFriend substory will be complete.
2) Ai, The Lovely Traveler Substory

You can find Ai speaking to fans at an event for her photobook on the second floor of the Anaconda Shopping Center. However, to speak with her, you’ll need to buy a $30 copy of Ai’s Photobook. You will barely be able to get a word in before you are pulled aside by security. The attendant will make you buy copies until you have spent $360 overall. These can later be given as gifts to your crew members.
When three ruffians try to cut the line, Majima jumps in, and an easy fight begins. Ai thanks you for standing up to them and asks to see your ship. She asks Majima to sail to his favorite destination, and he takes her to Rich Island, where another fight awaits. Five pirates violently interrupt your sunset walk on the beach, and Ai joins you in dishing out a beating (by pulling out a sniper rifle). With the pirates lying dead or unconscious in the background, Ai takes a selfie with you, concluding The Lovely Traveler substory.
3) Kaho, Can You Keep A Secret? Substory

Kaho is a businesswoman and entrepreneur with a risqué secret, and her substory is fairly straightforward. Following the questmarker to the hotel on Seaside Ave, you will be confronted by her three bodyguards, and will have to beat them in a fight. Majima invites Kaho to the mixer but she is unsure about attending.
Next, you’ll need to head to the Cultural District (you can take the Night Street cab), where you’ll find Kaho leering at the display case of the Hyper Ecstasy shop. She confesses her secret, and after fighting a gang of extortionist goons with you, Kaho shares her contact details, concluding the substory.
4) Seiko, Truth Substory

Seiko is a racer you’ll find by the fountain on Kolonahe Street. She will ask you for directions to the Dragon Kart stadium and begin the substory. At the Dragon Kart Stadium, you can begin the race with seven other drivers, including Seiko. After burning rubber, Seiko will ask you to have a drink with her, which will eventually lead to a fight with four thugs as you are about to drop her off at the Crystal Aloha Resort. After backing you up in the fight, Seiko will share her contact details, thus ending the Truth substory.
5) Misoshi, Hello, World! Substory

At the Anaconda Shopping Center, Misoshi can be found in the eastern wing emceeing an arcade gaming tournament. When a contestant becomes too rowdy, you step in to show off some combos of your own. Delighted, Misoshi invites you to collaborate on a let’s play stream, and Majima suggests the second floor of Revolve as a studio.
During the stream, you can give on-the-fly reactions and commentary, but to score the S Ring at the end, you’ll have to pick the most entertaining options of dialogue. When introducing yourself, choose “I’m the one they call captain Ma-z-ma!” and upon getting ringed out, choose the “frustrated” reaction. After completing the stream, Misoshi will agree to attend the mixer, completing the Hello, World! substory.
6) The One Substory

After getting all the girls on board, head to Revolve, where Majima reveals the true reason for the mixer. You can choose any dialogue options while hyping up Masaru. Majima lets the chef know what he has set up for him, and the live-action cutscenes begin. Following the initial cutscene, we return to Revolve, only now the mood in the room is sour, with Masaru sulking the most.
Talking to each of the girls one by one, live-action cutscenes will play as they recall their respective dates with Masaru. Even though he strikes out with all the Minato girls, the chef takes it as an opportunity to grow and delivers a heartfelt apology to them. On the bright side, all of them realize that they want to get closer to Majima and step on board as crew members for your ship.
