Now that Marvel Rivals Season 2 is drawing closer, let’s take a look at what we can expect to see in the upcoming season.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is arriving swiftly, and fans are already getting excited. So far, the game is showing promise with regular balance changes, interesting game lore, new characters, and fresh maps and modes. Since the new season will soon be here, we should maintain the hype by going over the content we can expect to see in the near future.
NOTE: This is NOT a wishlist and the information we will present here are taken from official sources. Hence, there will be no speculations.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Setting

Marvel Rivals often hints at what’s coming through the in-game lore. Season 0 was an exception in this scenario because things were still starting off. However, we knew of the Fantastic Four, thanks to various leaks via data miners. But via Midnight Features I & II, the developers have revealed that we might be headed to Krakoa in Season 2!
Krakoa, the sovereign island nation of the mutants holds an eventful night to show off mutant creativity through fashion. This series of events in the comics is called the Hellfire Gala. Through one of the Gallery Cards in Season 1, Doctor Doom acknowledges the plans of his younger self regarding all that went down in New York during the events of Eternal Night Falls. At the end of the Gallery Card lore, the future Doctor Doom revealed that he has a “Gala” to attend.

New Characters in Marvel Rivals Season 2

Undoubtedly, there will be new heroes joining the already-expansive roster in Season 2 of Marvel Rivals. However, as per the hero-release schedule that the Marvel Rivals Creative Director revealed in a Dev-Diary, they will try releasing one character every six weeks. This means each season will have two new heroes since each season will be split into two halves.
In Season 1, things were a bit different because the Fantastic Four could only be divided into two groups of two heroes. But it seems there will only be one new hero joining the roster in Season 2 and another in Season 2.5.
Starting with the first one, I believe it could be Blade. He was teased in both Midnight Features I & II and also had a full-fledged appearance in Season 1.5. As you can see in the image above, he is a captive in Dracula’s castle, and players carrying the payload to stop the rituals can spawn next to him after reaching the checkpoint in the middle. Apart from Blade, we will have to wait for another character, hopefully, somebody from the X-Men if the theme is Hellfire Gala.
Marvel Rivals New Playable Content in Season 2

Something that we can fully expect to come to Marvel Rivals in Season 2 is new maps. The next battle shall take place in Krakoa if that’s where our heroes are truly headed. The game will have a choice between Convoy, Convergence, and Domination matches. We are likely to get a Domination match in Season 2 because Season 1 didn’t have any maps for Domination. We also got a Doom Match (a new mode) in Season 1. So, there may also be a new mode in the new season.
There was also a rumor floating around in the community regarding a potential PvE mode. This rumor did not manifest itself in Season 1 and when talking to IGN about the same, Marvel Rivals’ producer Weicong Wu said, “For now, we don’t have any kind of a PvE plan.” Regardless of the plan, we could still end up getting a fresh mode to enjoy.
