How To Obtain Scarlet Amber Shard in Monster Hunter Wilds?
As its name suggests, Scarlet Amber Shard is found in Scarlet Forest. This amber contains fossils of insect remains, as described in-game:
“Amber from the Scarlet Forest. The bodies of fossilized insects float in its scarlet confines.”
However, you can obtain Scarlet Amber Shard in Scarlet Forest only on Low Rank. In High Rank, you will get Eternal Scarlet Amber instead, another special item of Rarity 6.
Since special items appear as question marks on the map, locating the Scarlet Amber Shard is easy. These special items function similarly to Account Items from Monster Hunter World. Scarlet Amber Shard is used to trade with NPCs for valuable crafting materials. It is often exchanged for Flowfern, a material used to craft Water Ammo.
