Monster Hunter Wilds: Ultimate Strength Quest Guide (SF6 Side Mission)

This guide explains how you can complete the Ultimate Strength quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, a new side mission in collaboration with SF6.

Wild things have stirred up in Monster Hunter Wilds as Akuma from Street Fighter 6 joins the fray himself! Akuma only has a limited number of innate MonHun weapons that he can use, but he has access to his original SF6 moveset. You will be able to use his fighting moves, including Gou Hadoken, Gou Shoryuken, Drive Impact, and even Shun Goku Satsu. Before you can ensure the monsters get a taste of the classic demon fists, you need to complete a side quest first.

Ultimate Strength is the latest side quest addition to Monster Hunter Wilds as a part of the collaboration with Street Fighter 6. This side mission is fairly simple. You will spend the majority of the time finding carcasses rather than fighting. The tricky part is finding these since the location is not told to you. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough for the Ultimate Strength quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, a new side mission that eventually unlocks SF6’s Akuma.

How To Start Ultimate Strength Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds

To start the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, you need to speak with Quinn in the Oilwell Basin region first. You can easily reach here by fast traveling to the base camp in Oilwell Basin. Once you talk to this NPC from the Vespae Unit, you will get a clear idea of what is happening. More Tempered Monsters have started popping up in the Oilwell Basin, and they are all dying. This, in turn, is upsetting the ecosystem of the entire area. Thus, Quinn will ask for your help, and this finally starts the questline in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Steps To Complete the Ultimate Strength Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Ultimate Strength Quest side mission is not complex but has a few stages that must be completed. Here are all the steps needed to complete this side mission:

• Talk to Quinn in the Oilwell Basin to start the mission.
• Optional: Talk to Chlorolo and Latner in the Azuz Everforge to get a better idea of the locations and what you are dealing with.
• Next, you will have to find two carcasses: one in the upper stratum and one in the middle stratum.
• Once you have found both carcasses, head back to the Azuz Everforge and talk to Maki.
• Next, you will have to search the lower subterrane in the Oilwell Basin for the character who uses his bare fists to hunt down monsters. This is none other than Akuma.
• Once you find Akuma, a short cutscene will ensue where you will be royally defeated by the fighting demon. He will then tell you to beat a monster and prove your mettle.
• Head to the Grand Hub and accept the Arena Quest named Demonic Strength. This will be a hunt for a Tempered Ajarakan with 5-star difficulty and 3-star strength.
• After defeating the Tempered Ajarakan in the Arena Quest, head back to Akuma at the same location and talk to him one last time.

With that, you will successfully complete the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds as a part of the collaboration with Street Fighter 6 (SF6).

Where To Find Carcass in The Upper Stratum in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

In the upper stratum, you will find the carcass between Area 2 and Area 5 of the Oilwell Basin for the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds. This will be the corpse of a Tempered Rathian. As a safety measure, you should also don your Ghillie Mantle after reaching this part. Other monsters like Rathian, Gypceros, or Rompopolo frequent this area.

When you are near the location, your Palico will tell you something is off. This is a cue that you are in the right location. Similarly, if you are at the wrong location, your Palico will inform you of the same. Once you have found this carcass, you need to head to the middle stratum to find the next carcass.

Where To Find Carcass in The Middle Stratum in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

You will find the middle stratum carcass in Area 11 of the Oilwell Basin for the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds. This time, you will find the remains of a Tempered Gypceros. Unlike the area in the upper stratum, this one is much more secluded and is unlikely to face any sudden monster visits. However, you should still have your Ghillie Mantle on.

The easiest way to reach this location is by teleporting directly to the Area 9: Middle Strata South pop-up camp and then traveling a very short distance to Area 11. Once you have found both carcasses, you need to head back to Maki in Azuz.

Where To Find Akuma in The Lowermost Subterrane in Monster Hunter Wilds Ultimate Strength Side Quest?

You will find Akuma at the easternmost point of the lower level of Oilwell Basin in Monster Hunter Wilds. This is a Y-shaped region to the east of Area 14, and Akuma will be waiting inside a small cave in this location. While this might excite most of you, prepare to be royally tripped, as Akuma will refuse to cooperate and instead whoop you with his bare fists.

However, the demon fighter will also tell you to partake in an Arena Quest and beat a monster. If you are successful, Akuma will comply with your wishes and stop hunting monsters and (unknowingly) damaging the ecosystem of the area.

How To Beat Tempered Ajarakan in Demonic Strength Arena Quest

To prove your mettle to Akuma, you will need to fight a Tempered Ajarakan as the final challenge in the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, the most interesting aspect is that you will get to play as Akuma himself during this Arena Quest and gain access to some of his kit from the Street Fighter 6 game as well.

Here are the details of the Demonic Strength Arena Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds:

• Monster: Tempered Ajarakan
• Difficulty: 5-star
• Strength: 3-star
• Total Time: 50 minutes
• Fail Criteria: Faint 9 times

This Tempered Ajarakan hunt is not difficult at all. Even an inexperienced hunter should be able to do it within the stipulated time. That said, since this is an Arena Quest, you will get a grade based on your completion time:

Grade	Completion Time
A	Less than or equal to 5 minutes.
B	More than 5 minutes and less than or equal to 15 minutes
C	More than 15 minutes and less than or equal to 50 minutes.

Tips and Tricks To Beat Tempered Ajarakan in Demonic Strength Arena Quest

Before we get to the tips and tricks, note that you will only be able to play as Akuma during this Arena Quest. Akuma can use one of these six weapons only in Monster Hunter Wilds:

• Long Sword
• Great Sword
• Switch Axe
• Insect Glaive
• Bow
• Heavy Bowgun

However, we recommend using only his melee fighting moves to enjoy this fight to the fullest. Here are the tips and tricks to defeat Tempered Ajarakan as Akuma:

• Before the fight, remember to equip Gou Shoryuken as your slinger ammunition. This will allow you to spam this move anytime when you are at a distance, and it deals an impressive amount of damage.
• Get close to the monster and activate Assisted Combo: Akuma to use melee moves.
• Start with the Light Punch, then combo into your Medium Standing Kick and Heavy Standing Kick.
• You can also use Heavy Gou Shoryuken during this combo.
• Use the full combo OD Tatsumaki Zanku-kyaku when the monster is stunned to deal massive damage.
• You will be able to use your Drive Impact: Oni Goroshi as an offset attack, so look for opportunities to take advantage of this.
• After you have used Drive Impact once, it will enter a cooldown state that will recharge in a very short while.
• If you see an injury on the monster, immediately use Focus Mode and then use Drive Impact on the enemy. This will trigger Shun Goku Satsu and deal huge damage to the monster.

Repeat this process until Tempered Ajarakan is defeated. When you finally defeat the monster, a K.O. screen will appear, bearing the same voiceover as in Street Fighter 6. Based on your time of completion, you will get your rewards. However, you will also get a special SF6 Ticket that can be used to unlock armor for Akuma in Monster Hunter Wilds.

After you talk to Akuma for the final time, you will get the following rewards for completing the Ultimate Strength side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds:

• 300 Guild Points
• Hunter Rank points.
• Unlocks Akuma Alpha armor set designs.
• Various drops like Demondrug, Demondrug+, and more. (This is an RNG-based drop.)
