Ninja Gaiden 4 looks spectacular at 1440p resolution. However, the game has a few issues, such as object smearing and noise within the image. The default image quality appears to be soft overall. The optimization work that the developers did with this game is spot on. The frame time graph is consistently flat, the inputs are crispy and responsive, and you will have a great time playing this game.

The settings below will fix the visibility issues and help you get visuals out of the game. We are using DLAA to fix the image quality in the game, and it limits our approach to being only effective for Nvidia cards.

Currently, the FSR upscaler on AMD GPUs does not offer granular control over preset selection. It offers only three parameters: prioritizing quality, prioritizing performance, and then balancing. Based on our observations, using either spoils the image quality.

Note: On Nvidia cards, as of game version 1.0.1.0, there is no option to toggle DLSS Quality presets, so we suggest playing at native resolution with DLAA. DLAA is heavier than native resolution, but it effectively cleans up the image and improves visuals.

The recommended GPU power is around the RTX 4070 / RTX 5060 Ti on Nvidia. RX 9060 XT / RX 7800 XT and higher on AMD.

DLAA will fully clean up the shimmering and softness within the image, making it look sharper. On AMD cards, using NO-AA yields the sharpest image output.

The NO-AA option under the anti-aliasing tab removes anti-aliasing, resulting in objects and textures with jagged edges. If you dislike this effect, you can use TAA under the anti-aliasing option; the image will appear slightly soft, but it will still be an improvement over stock settings.
