The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is a proper high-end GPU, while the Radeon RX 9070 is an upper-midrange graphics card. Their prices also reflect that. The Nvidia card is significantly more expensive than the Radeon. However, the real question is whether the performance of the RTX 5070 Ti justifies the higher cost. If it does, then the Nvidia GPU is the better option, but if it doesn’t, then the Radeon card is the better option.

In this article, we will find out which GPUs deliver better value for your money and which one you should buy.

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti vs Radeon RX 9070: Detailed Comparison

The RTX 5070 Ti is based on Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture with the newest GDDR7 memory. On the other hand, the Radeon RX 9070 is based on AMD’s latest RDNA 4 architecture. Let’s check out the rest of the specs to get a better idea of what these two GPUs are capable of.

Specs Comparison

According to the specs above, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti has twice the number of shader cores as the Radeon RX 9070. The former also has more RT cores and faster GDDR7 memory than the latter, but their capacities are the same. However, specs only tell half the story. Let’s check out how the two GPUs perform in actual games.

Performance Comparison

Here’s how the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti and Radeon RX 9070 perform in some of the most popular games on the market:

GamesNvidia RTX 5070 TiRadeon RX 9070
Clair Obscur Expedition 3360 FPS48 FPS
The Last of Us Part 2123 FPS97 FPS
Marvel Rivals86 FPS74 FPS
Monster Hunter Wilds85 FPS76 FPS
Black Myth Wukong90 FPS77 FPS
Cyberpunk 2077127 FPS110 FPS
Alan Wake 297 FPS101 FPS
Diablo 4168 FPS126 FPS
The Witcher 3138 FPS120 FPS
Baldur’s Gate 3199 FPS170 FPS
Red Dead Redemption 2133 FPS124 FPS

Note: The two GPUs tested here were evaluated at a 1440p resolution with High/Ultra Settings, unless otherwise specified. All the FPS numbers were sourced from the Jegs TV channel on YouTube. For the tests, the two graphics cards were paired with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU.

On average, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is around 16% faster than the Radeon RX 9070, which is a decent improvement but nothing too big. We expected the performance difference to be much larger, given the huge difference in specs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. This is why we urge users not to judge based on specs alone.

Price Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is currently selling for $749.99 on Amazon, while the Radeon RX 9070 costs $599.99 on Amazon. Therefore, the Nvidia GPU is 25% more expensive.

Final Verdict on Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti vs Radeon RX 9070

The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti delivers around 16% more performance than the Radeon RX 9070. Therefore, the Nvidia GPU is the best for gaming. However, it is 25% more expensive, which doesn’t justify its small 16% performance improvement. Therefore, the Radeon RX 9070 delivers better value for your money, despite being a bit slower.

Which GPU you should buy will depend on what you want and your budget. If you want the highest performance possible and don’t mind paying $750, go with the RTX 5070 Ti. However, if you have a tighter budget and want the best value, then get the Radeon RX 9070 instead. The Radeon GPU delivers 60+ FPS in all games at QHD resolution except Clair Obscur Expedition 33. However, you can enable FSR and get 60+ FPS in that title as well. The choice comes down to you.
