Follow Mythic Dawn clues across Cyrodiil in Burning Trail to uncover a hidden agent and start the Crimson Cave quest.
Burning Trail is the first of two short quests in Oblivion Remastered that reward the player with the Cataclysm Gear set, which includes armor and weapons of Dagon and unique horse armor. The Crimson Cave quest follows Burning Trail and is only accessible to those who purchased the Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition. In it, the player finds notes left by the Mythic Dawn, leading to a secret agent of the organization who can reveal the location of a secret Mythic Dawn gathering.
How To Complete Burning Trail Quest in Oblivion Remastered
Unlock the Burning Trail quest by speaking to citizens or guards of the Imperial City and asking about rumors. Alternatively, you can begin by locating the first Mythic Dawn Pamphlet in the city.
Mythic Dawn Pamphlets
Most of Burning Trail involves following the clues left by Mythic Dawn Pamphlets in a treasure hunt across Cyrodiil. Refer to the map image given above for their locations. All but the last pamphlet have quest markers pinpointing their location.
- The first pamphlet is located in the Talos Plaza, on a wooden barrel by the Dragon statue.
- The second pamphlet is located near Hircine’s Shrine, south of the Imperial City. Upon reaching the statue of Hircine, follow the stone wolf’s gaze to a tree with the second pamphlet stuck to it.
- Find the third pamphlet at Molag Bal’s shrine, on the eastern tree behind the rock.
- The fourth and final Mythic Dawn pamphlet is hidden on the inside walled basin of the Lucky Old Lady statue in Bravil. It asks you to look for a shy Dunmer.
Lonely Suitor’s Lodge
Once you have found all the pamphlets, head to the Lonely Suitor Lodge and speak with the innkeeper, Bogrum Gro-Galash. He will suggest that the shy Dunmer might be Ranaline, the cook. When you approach her, the Dark Elf must be convinced to reveal the location of the Mingo Cave, requiring a disposition of at least 50.Â
To achieve this, you can play the persuasion minigame or bribe her. Then, select the Mythic Dawn Notes dialogue option, and she will point you to the Mingo Cave. At this point, the Burning Trail quest ends, and The Crimson Cave quest begins.
