The Bug Out event is starting from March 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Whether you are looking to complete research tasks, catch new Pokemon, or boost your XP, there is something for you.

New Pokemon Debuts
For the first time, Sizzlipede and Centiskorch from the Galar region will be available. You will need 50 Sizzlipede Candy to evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch. Keep an eye out for them in raids and wild encounters.
Event Bonuses
Catch Pokemon with Nice Throws or better to get 2× XP and additional Candy. Trainers level 31 and above also have a better chance to collect Candy XL. Lure Modules will be especially useful to attract Sizzlipede and trigger extra spawns when enough Pokemon are caught near a single PokeStop. There will be increased chances to encounter Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
Wild Encounters
Several Bug-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. These include Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. A few lucky Trainers may also find Cutiefly. Shiny versions of some of these Pokemon might be available.
Raid Battles
If you enjoy battling, there are multiple opportunities in raids.
- One-Star Raids: Scyther, Nincada, and Sizzlipede.
- Three-Star Raids: Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Shiny variants are possible, adding an extra incentive to take on these challenges.
Field Research Tasks
Complete event-themed Field Research tasks to earn Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
Timed Research
A free Timed Research will be available, offering rewards such as a Lure Module and encounters with event-themed Pokemon like Shedinja, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor. Be mindful of the deadline—tasks must be completed and rewards claimed before March 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Paid Timed Research
A $2.00 paid Timed Research option is there. The rewards include a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor. You can gift a ticket at the Great Friends level or higher.
Collection Challenges
There will be special Collection Challenges that focus on catching and evolving Pokemon. Complete them to earn Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon. Look out for PokeStop Showcases where you can enter event-themed Pokemon. If you like customizing your Trainer, there are new Sizzlipede Boots and Scolipede Jackets in the in-game shop.
