Notably, shiny appearance rates are boosted, along with several Legacy Moves being available for most of the Pokemon. December Community Days are extra special because they are essentially a combination of all other Community Days that have taken place in that year.
During the December 2024 Community Days, all other 2024 Community Day Pokemon will be available as wild spawn with boosted shiny rates. At the same time, all 2023 Community Day features will be available as exclusive egg hatches. Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day: Date And Time
The Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day takes place on December 21 and December 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. During these three specific hours on both days, you will encounter lots of Pokemon with boosted shiny rates. If you are a shiny collector or a Pokedex completionist, this event is the ideal time to snag some rare critters.

You will get different Pokemon from wild encounters and egg hatches on these two days. Here is a list of all the Pokemon you can get via these methods in the December 2024 Community Day.
Wild Encounters
There are 12 special wild encounters that you can get on both days of the December 2024 Community Day from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm local time. These contain all the Community Day Featured Pokemon that have appeared in 2024. However, they will only have their shiny appearance rates boosted during specific dates and times.
Here are the dates and times during which these Pokemon will have an increased shiny appearance rate:
December 21, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time

All Bonuses During Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day
The following bonuses will also be active during the Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm only, on both days:
- 2× XP for catching Pokemon.
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokemon.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokemon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- One additional Special Trade can be made, for a maximum of two per day.*
- Trades made during the event will require 50% less Stardust.*
*These bonuses will be active on December 21 and 22, 2024, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm local time.
How to Prepare For the Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day
Here are some tips that you should know as you prepare for the Pokemon GO December 2024 Community Day:
- Stock up on all types of Poke Balls. You should have an abundant supply of the basic Poke Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls.
- Stock up on all berries if you want to catch many Pokemon. Pinap Berries will be especially important if you want bonus candies as well.
- Make sure you have ample storage to catch a lot of Pokemon. If you don’t mind spending some Pokecoins, upgrading your Pokemon storage space might not be a bad idea.
- Try to practice and land as many Perfect curveball throws as you possibly can.
- If you have a Shadow variant of any of the Pokemon that can evolve with bonus Legacy moves, you may consider removing Frustration from it. With that, the next evolution with the Community Day bonus will guarantee the legacy move, making it a stronger Pokemon overall.
- Try to find groups of players to team up with and complete Party bonuses. Campfire meets are very common for events like these, so that might be worth checking out.
