This Pokemon Legends Z-A walkthrough will walk you through the “A Rogue Mega Dragonite” main story mission in the game.
Pokemon Legends Z-A’s Lumiose City is infested with Rogue Mega Pokemon, and your job is to clear them all out. Rogue Mega Dragonite is one such Pokemon you’ll find on your journey, and could very well be a roadblock if you don’t prepare beforehand.
With this guide, we’ll walk you through the “A Rogue Mega Dragonite” quest in the game, bringing you face-to-face with the dangerous Pokemon. We’ll also discuss the Pokemon’s weaknesses and help you construct a strong lineup to face the challenge.

Pokemon Legends Z-A: A Rogue Mega Dragonite Mission Guide
Starting Location
You begin the “A Rogue Mega Dragonite” mission by heading to Hotel Z and talking to the gang after Main Mission 31. Lida will then kick off a strategy meeting where she’ll tell you of the Rogue Mega Pokemon causing problems. Rogue Mega Dragonite is one of these Pokemon, and is in Vert Sector 3.
Once the meeting wraps up, head to Vert Sector 3. This area is directly northeast of Vert Plaza. Head to the sector and enter the courtyard. Take a right and take the ladder heading up. Parkour across the roof obstacle course and you’ll reach Taunie. The Rogue Mega Dragonite is just in front of her. Talk to her to begin the fight.

Rogue Mega Dragonite Boss Fight
Rogue Mega Dragonite is a fairly challenging boss fight, but it has the following weaknesses you can exploit:
- Rock
- Ice
- Dragon
- Fairy
Keeping these weaknesses in mind, we suggest bringing the following Pokemon:
- Aerodactyl
- Aggron
- Frosslass
- Glalie
- Gardevoir
Once the fight begins, you have to watch out for the following attacks:
- Air Slash: Dragonite will send a piercing air wave in your direction. Side-step this attack to stay safe.
- Flamethrower: Dragonite will breathe fire at you. Keep running sideways to avoid this.
- Outrage: This is a melee attack, so you can dodge this by stepping back.
- Hurricane and Lightning: Dragonite will turn the arena into hell by summoning tons of mini hurricanes accompanied by lightning bolts. Keep running non-stop to dodge these.
Stay on the move and exploit the boss’s weaknesses to win this fight.
A Rogue Mega Dragonite Mission Reward
After defeating Rogue Mega Dragonite and completing Main Mission 32, you will receive Dragoninite Mega Stone. Dragonite can evolve into Mega Dragonite while holding the Dragoninite Mega Stone. Have Dragonite hold Dragoninite to unlock its Mega Evolution.
