Learn how to complete Show Me a Mega Sableye quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A, including steps, battle tips, and rewards.

Show Me a Mega Sableye! is Side Mission 31 in Pokemon Legends Z-A. It continues the creative set of tasks from Arden, a designer who studies Mega Evolutions to create stylish contact lenses. This time, she wants to see Mega Sableye in action to inspire her next design idea.
You can only access this quest once you complete Main Mission 14, called Reaching Rank E. That part of the main story unlocks Arden’s entire Mega Evolution series. It also requires you to finish Side Mission 30, Show Me a Mega Camerupt!, before she gives you this one.
Your goal in this side quest is simple. You need to catch a Sableye, Mega Evolve it using its special stone, and then battle Arden. She wants to witness how Mega Sableye performs so she can turn that into her next contact lens design.
How To Start Show Me a Mega Sableye! Quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A
To begin the quest, head to Vernal Avenue in the Vert District. Arden is easy to spot, standing just south of the Vernal Pokemon Center. Once you have completed her previous mission, talk to her again. She will share her idea and ask if you can show her Mega Sableye.
Before you meet her, make sure you already have the Mega Ring from Main Mission 9, Chase That Mysterious Pokemon. Without it, your Sableye will not be able to Mega Evolve. Once everything is ready, accept the quest and prepare for the steps ahead.
How To Finish Show Me a Mega Sableye! Quest
Catch a Sableye

The first thing you need is a Sableye. The easiest place to find one is in Wild Zone 9, which opens after you finish Main Mission 9. You can reach it through Magenta Sector 5, on the west side of Lumiose City. Look near the metal scaffolding and check behind the breakable boulders along the paths. You will find a few Sableye hiding there. Use moves like Rock Smash or any strong physical attack to clear your way.
If you completed Side Mission 3 earlier in the story, called Sableye in the Cemetery, you might already have a Sableye in your team. That earlier mission gave you a chance to catch one inside Wild Zone 4, at the Dormez Bien Cemetery. If you missed it then, Wild Zone 9 is your next shot.
Get the Sablenite Mega Stone
After catching Sableye, your next step is to get the Mega Stone that allows it to evolve. The Sablenite can be bought from Quasartico Inc., located in the northwest part of Lumiose City. You will need 180 Mega Shards to trade for it. The easiest way to collect Mega Shards is by breaking Mega Crystal clusters that appear across the city.
Some of the best farming spots are the Hotel Z rooftop, the area around Prism Tower, the rooftops of Wild Zone 9, and the alley behind Restaurant Le Yeah. The crystals respawn often, so you can loop through these locations to gather shards quickly.
Once you have the Sablenite, open your Boxes menu, pick your Sableye, and equip it as a held item. With that done, your Pokemon is ready to Mega Evolve during battle.
Battle Arden

Now head back to Vernal Avenue and talk to Arden again. She will start the battle. During the fight, make sure you Mega Evolve Sableye at least once. That is the key part of this mission. You do not need to keep Mega Sableye in the fight for the entire match. Just activating its Mega form once will complete the condition.
Mega Sableye is a tanky Pokemon with strong Defense and Special Defense. Its Magic Bounce ability reflects status moves like Toxic or Thunder Wave, which makes it tricky for opponents who rely on status effects. However, it has one major weakness, Fairy-type moves, so avoid keeping it out if your opponent has any Fairy Pokemon.
Its appearance changes quite a bit when it Mega Evolves. The red jewel in its chest grows into a massive gem that it uses as a shield. Its ears become longer, its teeth turn yellow, and its eyes glow crimson. It may be slow, but it is a solid defensive wall that can buy you time in a battle.
When you defeat Arden, she thanks you for helping her, and the quest ends right there.
Show Me a Mega Sableye! Quest Rewards in Pokemon Legends Z-A
After winning the battle, you receive a mix of items and customization rewards. Arden gives you 3000 Poke Dollars and two Soda Pops to help you in future battles. You also unlock two new eye designs called Starry Eyes and Black Void. These can be equipped by opening your Outfits menu and checking the customization options for contact lenses.
Finishing this mission automatically unlocks the next one in the series called Show Me a Mega Medicham!
