The new Battle Decks from the Phantasmal Flames set of the Pokemon TCG will feature Mega Diancie Ex and Mega Gengar Ex.
Two new Battle Decks starring Mega Diancie Ex and Mega Gengar Ex have been announced for the Pokemon TCG. These are based on the Starter Set Mega Diancie ex / Mega Gengar ex sets that will be released in Japan on September 5, 2025. Currently, the global release of these decks is expected to be on October 24, 2025.

Mega Diancie Ex and Mega Gengar Ex Will Be a Part of the Second Mega Evolution Set, Phantasmal Flames
At this moment, we do not know what either Mega Pokemon ex card will look like in the Pokemon TCG. However, they are part of Phantasmal Flames, the second Mega Evolution set after Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia. Furthermore, if the rumors are true, the next set after that will focus on a Pokemon ex version of Mega Charizard X. The name of this set is supposedly Inferno X.
As for the Mega Battle Decks starring the two new Mega Pokemon ex, here is what fans can expect in them:
- 1 ready-to-play 60-card deck
- 1 set of damage counters
- 1 large metallic coin
- 1 deck box
- 1 double-sided playmat and strategy sheet
- 1 code card to play this deck online
Additionally, each deck contains two Mega Pokemon ex cards. The estimated cost of a box is $14.99 USD.
With Pokemon Worlds 2025 starting next week on August 15, 2025, it is likely that we might receive information about these Battle Decks around this time.
At this point, the first set of Mega Evolution sets, Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia, has been released in Japan on August 1, 2025. Check out some of the cards from that set that are expected to define the Pokemon TCG meta.
