Pokemon TCG pocket Patch Notes for the January 29 update see the arrival of a new expansion, trading mechanic, Pokemon Tools, and more.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Patch Notes for the January 29 Update reveal the arrival of Space-Time Smackdown expansion and the trading feature. The second main expansion of this title features 140+ cards, revolving around Gen IV. Players will get two booster packs, featuring Dialga and Palkia.
The TCG Pocket Patch Notes v1.1.0 also discusses the debuting Pokemon Tools and issue fixes to improve the in-game player experience.

New features added
- Trade feature
- Trading of certain cards between friends is now available. We’re planning to expand the range of cards that can be traded.
- Trade tokens are required to trade cards of certain rarities. You can obtain trade tokens in Obtain Items by consuming cards with a rarity of 3-diamonds or higher or completing event missions. Note: For more information on the trade feature, please see Tips.

- Pokemon Tools
- A new Trainer card subtype, Pokćmon Tools, has been added!
- Pokemon Tools unleash all sorts of effects when attached to Pokemon in battle! Try including them in your decks when you obtain them!
- Play a Pokemon Tool card! has been added to the battle guide.
Issue fixes
- Some adjustments were made to the deck auto-build logic.
- Adjustments were made to some of the Italian attack names.
Other adjustments
- Some adjustments were made to the way that booster pack opening results are shared in wonder pick.
- Minor revisions to some features and text adjustments.
New tradable cards added
- Some cards included in Genetic Apex and Mythical Island booster packs can now be traded. For more details, please see ”Detailed trade list.”
Themed collections added
- Space-Time Smackdown-themed collections will be added on Thursday, January 29, 2025, at 10 PM PST.
Step-up battles added
- Attention:
- The event period and details are subject to change without warning.
- For the availability period, please see the screen of the corresponding feature or event.
- An error may occur when an update to the game goes live while players are on the standby screen before a battle. If you encounter this error, please try restarting the app.
