In Roadcraft, you run a company leading restoration efforts across various disaster-hit regions. You go from region to region, driving different vehicles, collecting resources, and helping these areas rebuild.

Since these areas were hit hard by disasters, their infrastructure is a total mess. While this is to be expected, it can be frustrating to tread through such areas, especially when it’s the roads that have been hit the worst. The roads are patchy and drastically slow you down. You have to trudge through these patchy roads using a terrain scanner, but even that eats up a good chunk of time. This problem becomes much worse when it is a route you use regularly and have to travel back and forth as part of a mission.

Thankfully, Roadcraft allows you to bypass this issue by fixing the roads themselves. This takes a bit of time and effort and requires you to gather sand, but it is well worth the effort in the long run. In this guide, we shall go over how to fix roads using sand in Roadcraft.

As stated earlier, you can fix up patchy roads in Roadcraft using sand. To do so, you will need a truck capable of carrying sand, as well as a bulldozer. Both of these vehicles can be acquired from the garage.

Once you have the truck, you’ll need to collect sand first. You can find sand by opening the menu and heading to the map. Using the second set of tabs on the top left, click on the pyramid-like icon. This will filter the map to display all the Sand Quarries. Head over to any of these quarries with your truck and press the ‘G’ key to refill the sand. If you’re on console, press the designated key shown in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Drive over to the patchy road and back up to it. Open the tipper by pressing the key shown in the bottom right corner. Use the tipper control to dump the sand onto the road. Switch over to the bulldozer and select Grader Mode: Sand Flattening. Drive over the dumped sand to fix the road.
