Unlock the secrets of Anchored with this beginner’s guide. Improve your survival skills and teamwork in Roblox’s latest game.
Anchored is a survival escape game on Roblox. Released on January 8, 2025, the experience combines puzzle-solving and survival genres to make a co-op game. While it is not necessary to play with friends, the gameplay loop rewards cooperation. Some of the in-game characters, called Climbers, have synergies and abilities that only work in large teams.
This is a beginner’s guide to Anchored. We will be explaining the core gameplay loop and the mechanics to help you play the game better.
Roblox Anchored Guide
The gameplay loop of Anchored is simple. You and your fellow players join the game through an elevator after spawning in. The elevator takes the team to separate floors. You need to hack all of the panels on a given floor while being undetected. Each level will have varying amounts and types of enemies, such as robots and drones. You will also find bandages and adrenaline boosts that can help you survive longer.
Lumens are the main in-game currency used to buy Climbers and items. You get them by doing tasks in the game or buying them with Robux.
During the introduction, you will be given the choice between two Climbers for free: Rocky and Puffy. Each Climber has a Health, Stamina, Speed, Hacking, and Stealth stat. Both Rocky and Puffy have identical stats, but they have different abilities. Here is a breakdown.
- Rock Shock: Rocky’s ability, Rock Shock, gives the player 20 stamina and Speed A for 5 seconds after getting hit by an enemy. Well-suited for solo players.
- Snowbond: Puff’s ability, Snowbond, gives the player +20 max stamina for each player in the game. Ideal for those planning to play with friends or large groups.
Without further ado, let us look at the controls for Anchored.
Controls
- Movement: You move using the simple movement buttons on your device, such as WASD on the PC keyboard or just the virtual analog on your mobile.
- Interact: Interact using E on the keyboard or tap on the panel.
- Drop Item: Hold backspace and the item number on the keyboard, or L3 and B/O at the same time after selecting the item on a controller.
- Emote: Press H on the keyboard and D-pad on the controller. You have to tap the currency icon on mobile to emote.
Anchored: How To Hack Panels and Evade Enemies
Your primary objective is to hack each of the panels on the floor. Only then will you be able to progress to the next stage and gain Lumens. To hack a panel, players need to solve a set of puzzles before the timer runs out. Incorrect answers will damage the player. Here are some examples:
- Math problems: Solve simple addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems before the timer runs out.
- Memorize the number: A six-digit number will appear on the screen for a few seconds. Your job is to memorize and type in the number.
- Memorize the sequence: A series of sequences will play out before you. Memorize and repeat them.
- Countdown: Several numbered squares will appear randomly on the screen. This puzzle can come in two types. Players either have to count back from 10 or go in ascending order from 1.
The additional challenge that players have to face is to evade enemies. They can damage you while you are hacking the panels. If you enter their line of sight, robots and drones will start attacking you. You can try running away. But a smarter and more efficient way would be to hide.
You do this by essentially putting an object, which can be tables or pillars, between you and the enemy. If done successfully, an icon of a crossed-out eye, as shown in the image above, will appear. After a while, the enemy will start patrolling once more.
