Getting the Clay Mutation

Before getting into the stats, let us discuss the process of getting the mutation. You can only get the Clay Mutation if a crop has the Sandy and Wet Mutations. The moment the crop gets both, the game removes Wet and Sandy and applies Clay. Here is a breakdown of how to get it.

  • Wet: This is one of the oldest mutations. The most common way for your crops to get wet is during a Rain or Thunderstorm weather event. Certain sprinklers can also impart it. The Sea Turtle pet also has a chance to make crops wet. Fruits and flowers with this mutation will have water droplets dripping down. Do not confuse this with Drenched, which is different from the Tropical Rain weather event.

  • Sandy: Sandy is tied to the new Sandstorm weather event added during the Prehistoric Update. During a Sandstorm, crops in your garden have a chance to acquire the Sandy mutation. This applies a new tan-colored texture to your crop and adds a 3x multiplier.

Clay Mutation: Multiplier, Stats

The Clay Mutation adds a 3x multiplier on your crop and drastically changes the appearance. The crop changes to a new brownish texture. While it is similar to the Chocolate mutation, Clay crops have a rougher texture and are lighter than Chocolate.
