Join the Roblox Takeover event and learn how to skate in Tagtown. Discover fun skate parks and show off your skills!
The Roblox Takeover event is live on the popular gaming platform, and players can join the fun by logging into the new experience between September 12 and September 22. To participate, you have to launch the Tagtown experience on Roblox, which is also this event’s hub area. Apart from walking around and interacting with the world, players can also skate in the Tagtown area of the Takeover event. The map has several skate parks with half-pipes and handrails for you to show off while skating. In this guide, we will explore how you can skate in the Takeover event’s Tagtown area.

How To Skate
After launching The Takeover experience and spawning into Tagtown, players have to press Q on PC or press the Skate button on the bottom right on mobile to start skating. Pressing the button again will disable skating, allowing you to walk around the map. Using the skating feature allows you to traverse the map faster. You can also do tricks while skating and accumulate points as you wait for the portals to open.
How To Do Tricks While Skating
You can do multiple tricks while skating:
- While on the skate, you can use the Spacebar (on PC) or the Up arrow on mobile to jump.
- If you get on a grind rail using the jump, the Grind meter will start filling up as long as you are on it.
- To do a trick, press and hold the jump button and one of the following keys.
- While jumping, you can do three distinct tricks by pressing two buttons at once on PC:
- Kickflip: Spacebar + R
- 360 Shuvit: Spacebar + F
- Treeflip: Spacebar + V
- Do note that if you press Spacebar for too long, your in-game character will lose momentum.
You can increase the combo meter by chaining several tricks in quick succession.
