Shadow Labyrinth, the 2D action-platformer that was showcased during The Game Awards 2024, finally has a confirmed release date. Based on the Pac-Man-inspired episode of Amazon’s Secret Level series, Shadow Labyrinth is a platformer, akin to classic Metroid games.

The game’s premise is fairly simple, you play as the Swordsman No. 8, who is accompanied by a sentient yellow orb named PUCK, and are tasked with the objectives – survive and eat. Although it’s a Metroidvania, it’s much more action-oriented than most titles in the series. Furthermore, the game also offers you multiple different playstyles to master as you make your way through the mysterious planet.

Following the announcement of the release date, pre-orders for Shadow Labyrinth also went live on all current-gen platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about Shadow Labyrinth’s pre-orders, including its release date, editions, and more.

Shadow Labyrinth is scheduled to be released on July 18, 2025. The game is coming to all current-generation platforms, i.e., PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC (via Steam). Furthermore, the game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, there is no “early access” or “advanced access” incentive for pre-ordering the game or its Deluxe Edition.

According to the game’s listing on the PlayStation Store, pre-loads for Shadow Labyrinth are scheduled to start roughly 48 hours prior to the official release. That said, pre-loads on PC won’t be that early since Steam usually allows pre-download of a game roughly 24 hours before the release date.

As for the game’s file size, based on the official system specifications, Shadow Labyrinth will require 5 GB of storage. Furthermore, the game is fairly lightweight in terms of PC requirements. This isn’t surprising considering it’s a 2D platformer.
