The Precious Light quest forces you to make a choice on whether you should give the Luminous Adra to Sapiento or Captain Bardatto in Avowed. The quest starts off looking like a fetch quest. You need to retrieve an Adra and hand it to the alchemist, Sapiento, for his research. However, you will soon discover that you will be doing more than just fetching an item to clear the quest.
As you make progress, you’ll eventually get hold of the Adra. However, you’ll also encounter other people who are looking for the rare item. You then have to choose between negotiating with them or taking the Adra with you by force and killing them. Based on your choices, the rewards will vary. To get the most out of the quest rewards, you need to side with Sapiento and give him the Adra. The rewards for choosing Captain Bardatto are quite disappointing and not worth the effort.

How To Get Luminous Adra in Avowed
After talking to Sapiento in Paradis, you will then be directed to ask the locals where to find a Luminous Adra. It will eventually lead you to Scholar Adelgund, who will direct you to Castol’s Folly.
Once you reach the area, you will need to fight groups of enemies and move forward to retrieve the Adra. Once you do, you will encounter Captain Travik and his group. Strike up a conversation, and he will tell you that the Adra Sapiento ordered sank with their ship. Following this, they plan to lie about it and give the last remaining stock of Adra to Bardatto instead.
You then have the option to attack Travik and his men. After clearing the area, you can loot the Adra near the camp and deliver it to Sapiento to complete the quest. However, there are other options that don’t require you to kill them.
Alternatively, you can offer to deal with Captain Bardatto in exchange for the Adra. Travik will accept this request and hand you the quest item. You can then ignore this request and head straight to Sapiento. If you do want to deal with Captain Bardatto, you can find her camp east of Paradis. She will drop a Bloodstone Gem upon defeat that you can loot. That’s an extra reward worth around 180 Skeyts if you sell it to a merchant.

Give the Luminous Adra To Sapiento
Giving the Luminous Adra to Sapiento de Falva will reward you with The Fantastic Alembic trinket. This item’s effect clears out all your accumulations after drinking a potion. It’s a handy item to have, and it’s free.
Give the Luminous Adra To Captain Bardatto
If you choose to surrender the Adra to Captain Bardatto, you won’t get anything other than a thank you unless you try and bargain. If your bargain is successful, you get 500 Skeyts for all the trouble. It’s barely worth the price compared to the trinket you get from Sapiento.
