Best Keybinds for South of Midnight
The best keybinds for any game can be a matter of great personal preference. When using a mouse and keyboard, players can develop comfort levels will certain keybindings, depending on the games they’ve played. Furthermore, your set-up and equipment can play a role, too.
If you’re used to traditional gaming, with lots of keybinds tied to the left-hand side of the keyboard, then you will probably be very comfortable with the default keybindings. However, if you have a gaming mouse, with the number pad on the side, I would highly recommend rebinding many of those actions to number keys.
For example, the default binding for a dodge is the left control key in South of Midnight. I find that keybind very frustrating to use while still trying to maneuver my character around effectively in combat. Therefore, I changed it to the number 1 key. This is much the same for the other combat attacks and spells you learn in the game.
Consequently, the best keybinds for South of Midnight are mostly left on their defaults, except for the weapon and attack actions. If you can rebind those to a gaming mouse, it will make combat much less frustrating.
How to Change Keybinds in South of Midnight
You can change the keybind settings in South of Midnight by pressing the ‘Esc’ key to open up the main menu. From there, select Options, then Controls, and then Customize mouse and keyboard selection. Next, you’ll see a new screen called Keybind Remapping. This will list all of the possible keybinds, and the key they are currently assigned to. You can change all of them, or only some, leaving the rest to their defaults.
Scroll down the screen to find the individual action you wish to rebind. Use your mouse to click on it, and a pop-up will then tell you to choose the key you wish to rebind that action to. Be careful here to only click the key you wish to use. However, if you mis-click, you can just select the same action again and reset the keybind again.
