Split Fiction’s Chapter 4 is named Final Dawn, which involves you trying to stop the production of dangerous toxins. This is easier said than done, however, as the mission involves tight cooperation between you and your friend to proceed.
The Gun Upgrade Mission unlocks right after the Chainsaw Mech boss fight. Here is a guide for completing the Gun Upgrade Mission during Chapter 4 of Split Fiction.
New Mechanics in the Gun Upgrade Mission in Split Fiction
As the name of the chapter implies, you will gain a new upgrade to your guns. This lets you break through the different red and blue shields you will encounter on this level. Blue barriers are for Zoe, and red ones are for Mio.
You can fire and then detonate these new Shield Buster rounds using LT or L2 on your Xbox or PlayStation controllers.
New Enemy Mechanics
If you proceed further while blasting through the shields, you will encounter enemies with shields. However, there is no need to worry. These enemies are simple to take down, as they involve just one extra step.
If they have a glowing red shield, Mio will have to fire her shield detonator, and vice versa. Disabling their shields will let both players clean up these robots effortlessly.
Using this mechanism, you will have to dispatch four robots in an open space. Both players will have to stay vigilant to ensure that the robots have their shields down. Dodge and avoid their blasts, and return fire of your own.
Exploding Barrels in the Gun Upgrade Mission in Split Fiction
Jump on top of a moving platform and stand on two buttons to activate the switches. Furthermore, shoot these switches to open the gate blocking your path. Now, you will come to an area where barrels will be rolling toward you.
You can shoot the barriers in the ground with the Shield Detonators to open up holes for the barrels to fall through. Shoot the mechanism from which these barrels are coming to stop their production.
Look to your right, and you will notice a parkour area with walls and a hydraulic press. Make your way across to get to the next section.
Aerial Drones
You will now get to control some drones that can move in the air. Double jump over some lasers and keep going forward. Now, you will see two shields with switches behind them. Have both players break their respective shield at the same time and then shoot the switches.
This will make the cover fall off, and you can proceed further. Here, you will encounter some flying machines with the same mechanic as before. Break their shields first, and then shoot them to eventually destroy them.
Get on top of the rail in the center of the room, and both players will go forward. Destroy the shields in your path to end this mission.
