The quickest and smartest way to farm gold in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon is through cooking, stacking junk, and chugging Origin potions to put all your skills into Practicality, Crafting, and Trading. Cooking in the game is very straightforward.

Once you reach the kitchen in the Horns of the South Keep, you will unlock cooking. Remember that you have to tell the cook that you want to learn how to cook. After that, to start farming your gold, simply start cooking with random ingredients, and 7 out of 10 times, you will end up with a dish that you haven’t unlocked yet.

These dishes can be sold for higher prices than the ingredients. Additionally, if you have the Side Dish Mastery that provides a 30% chance to create more food and Reusable Resources (50% chance to save an ingredient), this process becomes even more profitable. Rinse and repeat, as once you unlock the recipe, you don’t have to keep guessing the ingredients. The Mercantile skills also help you sell for higher prices (50% more).

These three skills are essential for farming gold really quickly in the game. Acquiring the ingredients is easy, as you can just purchase everything from the kitchen. Once you’re out of ingredients, just rest for 24 in-game hours, and the kitchen cook will be ready to supply you with more.

The same setup works for alchemy and potions as well. Mix and match, and sell them once you unlock a new potion.

If you would rather grind and not stare at the cooking process, bandits are the most grindable mobs in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. These bandits will drop random loot that you can sell off, and for higher prices if you have the Mercantile perk. This method is a good early-game grind for gold, as Origin potions are pretty rare. Unless you want to stack up warehouses of gold, it is better to keep the potions for later.

If you want to play the longer game, that is viable too. Just stash all your random loot without selling anything. Then, respec your character into a profit machine (Practicality/Mercantile perk), and sell all of it at once. This gives you the maximum amount of gold for mostly useless stuff that you would never use in-game.
