Before you get to picking away at Meteorite Ores, you first need a pickaxe. This is a tool you can purchase from Orlaith in the main castle area in Horns of the South. Approach the castle through the east gate (where you saw the giant bird), and pass through the Portcullis. Look to your right, and you will find Orlaith behind her stall. Talk to her and purchase the pickaxe.
If you don’t have money, you can also get this tool early on in the game. When you crash-land into Horns of the South, follow the main trail and keep your eyes peeled to the right. You’ll find an NPC using the pickaxe. You’ll find the pickaxe on a cart beside the NPC.
Once you have the pickaxe, it is time to look for Meteorites. Meteorites, which contain Meteorite Ores, can be found while exploring the map, and largely in dungeons. The Meteorites in the open world respawn each time you rest, but this is not the case for the ones in the dungeons. Therefore, if you wish to farm these ores, you need to try your luck in the overworld.
For a good farming spot, we recommend taking the bridge heading north from the castle. As you make your way up, you’ll find Meteorite Nodes spawn to your right. You can farm these nodes reliably for Meteorite Ores.
