In this guide, we’ll explain whether you should get bitten by Abhartach in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon.

I See Darkness is one of the engaging side quests that you can pursue in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. However, like many other quests in the game, you will have to make a difficult choice during the course of this quest. The quest sees you investigate a mysterious affliction that has befallen people in the village. While finding out the cause, you’ll eventually explore a magical dimension and meet a Fore-Dweller, Abhartach. Abhartach will request the player to come closer and let him bite them. He claims that this will cure the villagers of the mysterious plague. But should you get bitten by Abhartach in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon, or is it better to refuse him?
We suggest letting Abhartach bite you because doing so is simpler and does not harm you significantly. Let’s look at the repercussions of each of your choices here.
Why Should You Get Bitten by Abhartach in Tainted Grail the Fall of Avalon?

Letting Abhartach bite you will drain some of your health. However, since you have King Arthur’s blood running through your veins, Abhartach will die immediately after he consumes your blood. You can then loot his body and recover the Magic Dweller’s Bauble item.
On the other hand, if you reject Abhartach’s request, you will scorn the Fore-Dweller. He will try to attack you, but will crumble after just one hit. After he dies, you can again loot his body and recover the same item. The only difference is that when you reject his proposal, a boss fight begins with him. If you let him bite you, you can bypass this boss fight completely. Besides that, both choices will have the same outcome: Abhartach’s death.
At any rate, after the encounter with Abhartach, you will need to return to Betrys to check on the affected people.

What Happens Next in the I See Darkness Quest?

Upon returning to the village, you’ll learn that the keeper Mahon has recovered from the affliction thanks to your actions. However, Col’s condition hasn’t improved. At this point, if your character has high Spirituality, you can convince Betrys to let you end Col’s suffering. In that case, she’ll ask you to wait until nightfall before sneaking in and killing Col. This will earn you some extra gold and XP. Doing it at night will also help you avoid a bounty for the murder.
However, if your Spirituality isn’t high enough, the quest ends as soon as you return to Betrys. You won’t be able to earn the extra XP and money by ending Col’s pain.
