There are a few side quests you can do in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. One of these quests features an NPC named Vidar, and he has a lot to answer for. Another faction has been hounding him, called the Children of Morrigan, and you have the opportunity to turn him in or fight by his side. Each choice can lead to different results, and we’ll be exploring every alternative outcome.

The best option for this is to hand Vidar over to the Stranger and join their faction. Through this, you can participate in their activities and have access to a new set of missions.

During the Spread Your Wings side quest, you meet up with Vidar after running some errands. Shortly after, a group of strangers circled you and intended to take Vidar away. You can interfere by selecting the appropriate dialogue options or asking questions about what he did. This is where you must distinguish which side is being truthful; however, choosing one will open up a new branch of side quests.

The Stranger will thank you for your efforts in bringing Vidar out, and you will have two dialogue options:

  • What’s going on here?
  • Actually, I’m with Vidar. We came here to take you down.

If you prefer to fight alongside Vidar, select the second option immediately, or gather more intel by asking questions. It will be revealed that Vidar isn’t as innocent as he seems and has killed his kin in the past. The Children of Morrigan have been hunting him down ever since.

Help Vidar

If you choose to help Vidar, you will be locked out of a potential branching storyline and hunt down members of the Children of Morrigan. It can be cold and cruel to work alongside someone with a troubled past, but it all depends on your preferences. Vidar doesn’t seem to be the most trustworthy companion, but his intel could help against the Crows.

On the other hand, giving him up could lead to a series of unexpected events. The Children of Morrigan are more than happy to recruit you into their cause at the cost of Vidar’s freedom.

The best choice for this is to hand Vidar over to the Children of Morrigan. This path will open new missions for you to do, and this faction is more honest and upfront. Their methods are different and operate from the shadows, but they mean well. Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon heavily takes your choices into account, and regardless of which side you choose, both have similar outcomes but different targets.
