Tales of the Shire places great emphasis on cooking, which is standard for most cozy games. However, here your game progression depends on what you cook and who you feed it to. As you continue to impress the other Bywater residents and strengthen your bonds with them, you might unlock new rewards or even side quests.
For instance, after a certain point in the game, the NPC named Lily Cotton will have a favor to ask of you. She will give you her favorite mixing bowl that has been damaged and ask you to take it to Nefi to get it fixed. When you locate Nefi, she will explain why she cannot repair the bowl right away. Apparently, she has lost her forging tongs. It is now up to you to find the tongs for her.

Where To Find Nefi’s Tongs in Tales of the Shire?
When you speak to Nefi and she tells you about her misplaced forging tongs, she will also reveal that she lost them inside a tunnel. Apparently, she is simply too big to fit inside the tunnel, so she asks you for assistance. However, she leaves out a crucial detail: the location of the tunnel she is talking about. Bywater is pretty huge, and finding the tunnel without any help can get tricky. Thankfully, you will not need to scour the entire map in search of the place. In fact, the tunnel Nefi refers to is just below her workshop.
After you are done speaking to her, walk out through her workshop on the other side and proceed toward the stream on that side. You should eventually run across a tunnel there. Simply head inside and grab her precious tongs. With that in hand, make the short trip back to her forge to hand them over.

Repairing Lily Cotton’s Mixing Bowl
After you get Nefi’s Tongs in Tales of the Shire, she will readily repair the mixing bowl that Lily Cotton gave you. Once the repair is complete, take it back to its owner. Lily will be pleased to get her bowl back in perfect shape. You can then inquire about joining the cooking club. She will point you to another NPC named Marigold in the Ivy Bush. With that, you can head off to meet Marigold to proceed with your pursuit of joining the cooking club.
