Titan Quest 2 has barely been out for a few weeks, and players have already found some of the most broken builds in the game. The Ice Shards build, as it is called, is currently one of the most powerful builds in Titan Quest 2, so much so that we expect severe nerfs in the next update.
One of the main reasons why the Ice Shards build is so OP is because of how it mixes skills such as the Ice Shards with the Cyclone skill. The Cyclone skill is the best AOE skill in Storm Mastery, and you can improve it further with various modifications.
Cyclone has quite a few modifications you can choose from, which can make selecting the right one a difficult task. But that’s where we come in. In this guide, we have picked out the best modifications the Cyclone skill has to offer.

Best Cyclone Modifications in Titan Quest 2
Blizzard
The Blizzard modification for the Cyclone skill turns it into a death-bearing blizzard. When active, this modification increases the skill damage by 10 percent while also increasing the Ailment chance by +20 percent. Upgrade the skill three times, and you can increase these perks even further, improving the potency of the attack. Furthermore, the modification also adds a chance to Freeze, which works well with the Frost Explosion modification for Ice Shards.

Escalation + Violent Resolution
Escalation and Violent Resolution are two different modifications you can acquire for the Cyclone skill, and we recommend picking them both up as a package. The Violent Resolution modification deals 8 Cold Damage inside the cyclone radius whenever the skill ends. This damage can increase by 8 percent per Amplify. This is where the Escalation skill comes into play, which grants 1 Amplify every 2.0 seconds inside the cyclone. Upgrade and combine these two for a lethal combo.
Thunderstorm
The Thunderstorm modification is a Cyclone modification that adds random strikes of lightning to the attack. This means that while the skill is active, enemies nearby have a random chance to be hit by lightning. This improves the AOE potential of the attack, and you can increase the frequency of the strikes by upgrading the modification. You can increase the frequency further with Amplify, which we covered in the combo above.
