The mastery, Tempest in Titan Quest 2, is the mix of Storm and Warfare. Discover the build to level up efficiently with this mastery.

Titan Quest 2 is currently in Early Access, and the full game is expected to be released late in 2026. The predecessor, Titan Quest, was a genre-defining title. So far, Titan Quest 2 has not disappointed us, with overwhelmingly positive reviews on the Early Access version on Steam. In the Early Access version, we can see four masteries. All of these masteries, i.e., Earth, Rogue, Storm, and Warfare, were present in the OG Titan Quest, so we can expect the other four to be present in the full game.
Additionally, Titan Quest 2 allows you to combine two masteries to forge a new one. Once you start playing, your mastery is permanent. However, you can tweak your build in many ways. In this guide, we will discuss the mastery of Tempest in Titan Quest 2, which is the mix of Storm and Warfare.

Properties of Tempest in Titan Quest 2

In this mastery, you will wield the Ice and Lightning of Storm along with the explosiveness of Warfare. The skill Lightning Bolt and the combustible nature of Warfare Mastery complement each other. Your main weapon of choice is the Lightning Bolt.
However, in the initial stages, level up with Ice Shards. Once you have enough Divinity and a Bow, shift to Lightning Bolt. The passives should be from Warfare. Trial and error is the key here, as you can always respec, balancing the attacking and the defensive prowess of your build as you go along.
Combat Style
The efficiency of your attacks lies in how you position yourself. Initiate the attack from a safe distance, ensuring maximum coverage with the AoE of Lightning Bolt. Your ‘aiming game’ will be put to the test in this mastery. Beware! You are not meant to concede huge damage.
Stat Priority
Leveling will give you two Attribute Points. All gear has specific requirements. Additionally, certain attributes boost specific types of damage. In this build, we suggest you pool as many points as you can on Knowledge and Agility. Prioritize Vigor if you have any remaining points. These three attributes together boost Cunning, which in turn boosts your Lightning damage output.
Weapons

Since tanking is not your forte, prioritize Agility the most. This will allow you to wield the perfect weapon. On the other hand, Might and Fitness enable you to use heavier bows. However, Agility-based bows give you higher attack speed. Moreover, the movement speed lets you reposition yourself in battles.
However, you can use a staff in the beginning because Ice Shards will mainly be cast at that stage. Once you have Lightning Bolt ready, switch to a Bow immediately. Spears work fairly well, but nothing beats the efficiency of a Bow in this setup. A spear and a Shield can be used on your Weapon Swap for situations where you need to fight up front. This build revolves around Attack Speed, Critical Hit, and Added Lightning Damage.
Divinity Allocation
Divinity Allocation is the key to reaching the higher tiers of any mastery. Keep in mind that Divinity points can be respecced, like skill and passive points. Hence, you have the flexibility to adjust your build if you do not like the result. In the beginning, spend your first 18 Divinity points on the Storm mastery. Follow it up with spending points on Warfare. Fortunately, Lightning Bolt is not exhaustive, and we do not need to focus on the Core Skill points. Some may be added to our Dodge, if you please.
Skills and Passives
The following are the skills and passives we recommend, along with the points to be spent:
- Lightning Bolt (Storm Skill) – 17
- Weapon Proficiency (Warfare Passive) – 12
- Storm Nimbus (Storm Skill) – 17
- Battle Rage (Warfare Passive) – 8
- Invoker of War (Warfare Passive) – 4
- Storm Attunement (Storm Passive) – 12
- Blink (Storm Skill) – 7
- Lightning Evoker (Storm Passive) 8
- Raging Storm (Storm Passive) – 8
- Barrage (Warfare Skill) – 17
- Raging Mind (Storm Passive) – 6
Rotation and Build Mechanics
Since this is a Bow-based build, you need to maintain a healthy distance from your target. Use Blink to enter and exit combat whenever suitable. Fortunately, Energy consumption is not a huge issue since Lightning Bolt does not require many resources. Keep in mind that Lightning Strikes is a passive skill, and it will hit enemies or objects across the battlefield randomly from different directions. If you are too close to your targets, there is a high chance of you being collateral.
Blink has three charges, so use them wisely. Cast Barrage on more difficult mobs. However, consume a charge of Flow to ensure respectable damage. Once you have flow, the Barrage and its swarm of arrows will deal massive damage. The primary Aura in this build, Storm Nimbus, will do the following:
- The damage of base weapons will be converted to Lightning.
- Increase Lightning Strike (passive damage) by 60%.
- Cast Lightning Strikes passively.
Bundled with the Lightning Evoker passive, there is a 45% chance of hitting a random foe with Lightning Strike. If we boost Rage, the frequency of Lightning Strikes increases.
