With the release of the Switch 2, there are a bunch of highly anticipated games being released for June 2025. Here are five of these games.
June is a month that is absolutely stacked with new game releases. In general, this month is looking to be one of the biggest for the gaming industry this year. The primary contributor to this is the Nintendo Switch 2, which is set for release on June 5th.
Alongside the Switch 2, many games are getting ports to this console. However, many new games will also be released this month. Fans have been looking forward to many of these games for a long time now. With that said, here are the 5 most anticipated games of June 2025.

Most Anticipated Games of June 2025
It will be difficult to say for certain which are the most anticipated games for June, since we have a large number of anticipated releases. However, we can narrow it down to these five choices:
- Deltarune
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
- Mario Kart World
- Rematch
- Dune: Awakening
1. Deltarune
Ever since the first chapter of the spiritual successor of Undertale was released back in 2018, fans have been scrambling to get every piece of info that they can about the game. And recently, along with the announcement of the Switch 2, chapters three and four of Deltarune were also announced to be releasing on June 5th.
Although the current release is not the full game, Deltarune emerges as one of the most anticipated games this year. The rest of the game will be added over time as free updates, so players can buy it without worrying about missing out on future content.
2. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
As with all of Hideo Kojima’s other games, Death Stranding was a bizarre game. Unintentionally prophetic, but bizarre. It was also beloved by most players, another thing in common with Kojima’s other games. Therefore, Death Stranding 2 garnering immense hype is not surprising.
If there’s one thing Hideo Kojima has proven, it’s that he knows how to make good games. As such, Death Stranding 2, which is releasing on June 26th, is probably going to be quite an experience.
3. Mario Kart World
Announced alongside the Switch 2, Mario Kart World is highly anticipated for obvious reasons. For one, it’s a Mario game, and who doesn’t love Mario? For another, it is a launch title for the Switch 2, being one of the first games coming to the console. Lastly, it makes many innovations to the beloved Mario Kart series.
It introduces an open-world design, new techniques and supports double the number of players as previous games. It’s easy to see why players are waiting in droves to buy this game.
4. Rematch
Rematch has had a few beta tests so far. The final one, which started on May 28th, really showcased the hype for this game. With player counts of over 100,000 even during just the beta test, the audience can see that the anticipation of the game is through the roof.
Football fans will like to crack at this game when it eventually has its full release. The full game will “kick off” on June 19th.
5. Dune: Awakening
Although the original Dune novels (and the original film adaptations) were highly influential in many ways, the Denis Villeneuve film adaptations brought the franchise to the attention of the world at large. Both films have already become cultural icons in a few short years.
Dune: Awakening, which tells an alternate version of the Dune story, is highly anticipated for all of the above reasons. Fans of Dune (of which there are many) have been eagerly looking forward to June 10th, when the game releases. And they are joined in this by large parts of the gaming community.
