You can also use trap mines, as they technically come under the stealth playstyle. But it does bring a lot of attention.
Outsmart Enemies and Dogs
Enemies in The Last of Us 2 are smart. They get defensive even to the lowest of deciles, prompting them to investigate the source. To make things worse, some of them come with their own dogs, which further have the ability to track the scent of your trail. Such conditions make idling in an area tough. So, being on your foot in a crouched state is recommended.
When turning on your observation mode, you can get a sense of your scent trail. You can take the dogs out to remove the chance of any suspicion. Also, make sure you know exactly where you eliminate your enemies. You will not have the option of dragging or carrying bodies after you kill them, as Ellie is still just a teenager. Enemies tend to get alerted and more vigilant once they see a dead body. So plan your actions ahead.
