Umamusume Pretty Derby has many different running styles that you can use in races, and End Closer is one of them. Out of all the four running style racers, End Closers are very rare, as not many Umamusume in the current roster are proficient in it.

End Closer style makes it so that during races, your trainee stays at the end of the pack and comes to the front in the last stretch. All running style has their benefits and detriments, and this guide discusses everything you should know about End Closer in Umamusume Pretty Derby.

As mentioned before, each running style excels in different scenarios, but has equal drawbacks when used in the wrong situations. Here’s a list of all the pros and cons for you to better understand:

ProsCons
This style shines during Mile and Long races, where stamina is important. One of the hardest running styles to train in the game.
The trainee saves a ton of endurance throughout the race by staying at the back. The game does not have many good skills that benefit End Closers.
Most debuff skills do not work on Uma Girls at the back of the pack. You can easily get blocked by all the runners in front of you.
You have to get lucky with skill purchases to have a chance at winning.

As you can see, this running style has more cons than pros, which makes it not that great for most Umamusume, except for a select few like Gold Ship and Haru Urara.

End Closers require a lot of Power training. Power allows your Umamusume to reach their top speed at a much faster pace. Therefore, you should always focus on getting at least an A rank in Power before the URA Finale Finals.

The second most important stat that you should focus on is Wits. Having a high Wit stat makes sure your trainee does not suffer from blocks and can navigate the course. Speed is equally important for every race, so both these stats should be B rank or higher by the end.

Skills

Due to the lack of good style-oriented skills, most of what you will get is related to either endurance or navigation. Here is everything that you should focus on purchasing before races:

  • Swinging Maestro
  • Slipstream
  • Playtimes Over!
  • Encroaching Shadow
