How To Make Use of Summer Camps in Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Summer Camps take place during the Classic (2nd) and Senior (3rd) year of training. They start in early July, last 4 turns, and end in early September. During this time, all training reaches max level (5), allowing you to train neglected stats or boost important ones even further. Furthermore, Rest is replaced by Rest and Recreation, which provides Energy +40 and improves by one level.
Start Summer Camps with Full Energy
Rest or train Wit in June to restore your energy to near full for the start of the Summer Camp. This will allow you to train continuously for the 4 turns of the camp. If your uma’s mood is at normal or below, spend one turn on Rest and Recreation when energy begins to run low. You should have unlocked Friendship Training for all Support cards by the time the first Summer Camp comes around.
Manage Summer Camp Turn Economy

Summer Camp offers you 4 turns to get a few steps closer to the stats you want in your final build. Either focus on improving a core stat like Speed, or balancing out your build by training weaker stats, which may have been neglected.
At the same time, continue to check for Support Card positions and Friendship Trainings. With the higher training level, having multiple Friendship Trainings active on the same stat will magnify results to a jaw-dropping degree. There is a difference in how you should approach both Summer Camps.
- Focus on maximum stat gain in the 2nd Year Summer Camp.
- Improve stats with Friendship Training active or the most Support Cards on them to gain the maximum stat points.
- Train weaker stats and round out your build in the 3rd Year Summer Camp.
Do Not Risk Training Failure
If the chances of training failure are above 20%, it will be better to train Wit or spend the turn on Rest and Recreation rather than potentially wasting it. The rewards of risking failure will be quite high during the camp, but the tragedy of wasted potential will be far greater.
