Valkyrae said that GeoGuessr is going to be the featured game at an upcoming Twitch Rivals event this year.
Twitch streamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter may have leaked details about one of the upcoming Twitch Rivals events. During a livestream on February 12, 2025, Valkyrae was talking to Thomas “Sykkuno” about upcoming Twitch events. During the conversation, she revealed that GeoGuessr will be the featured game for the event.
Valkyrae told Sykkuno he does not want to attend the next Twitch Rivals event because it’s “GeoGuessr.” Sykkuno was surprised that GeoGuessr is one of the next featured games at Twitch Rivals. The two streamers quickly realized they were leaking information and said it was an accident.
GeoGuessr is a web browser game that randomly zooms into satellite images of locations around the world. Players are tasked with identifying the place on a virtual globe, and streamers often play it during Just Chatting streams. While Valkyrae and Sykkuno leaked that Twitch Rivals will feature GeoGuessr at an upcoming event, Twitch has not officially confirmed it yet.
Valkyrae Seemings Leaks Upcoming Twitch Rivals Event Details
During a conversation with Sykkuno during a Pokémon Fire Red / Leaf Green stream, Sykkuno told Valkyrae:
“So, hey, there’s a Twitch Rivals I got invited to. I’m supposed to invite someone.”
Valkyrae seemed to know about the event, and she said she was not interested:
“Oh, it’s the GeoGuessr. I am not doing that, brother.”
Sykkuno realized that the two streamers were leaking information, so he joked:
“Did you just leak the GeoGuessr thing? Man, Twitch Rivals is really not going to like you. All you’ve done is flame them and leak their stuff. This is crazy.”
Sykkuno joked about how she was trying to take both the streamers down and end up on bad terms with Twitch. Valkyrae responded that she would gladly take the blame off of him if they suffered any consequences for the leak.
The Streamer Was Involved in a Recent Twitch Rivals Controversy
Internet users criticized Valkyrae due to a recent controversy surrounding Twitch Rivals. In January 2025, Twitch partnered with Marvel Rivals to host a streamer-only Twitch Rivals event. Twitch staff changed competition rules just one day before the event, which led to some streamers missing out on an opportunity to compete.
The tournament limited teams to two high-ranking players in the registration phase. However, as competitors edged closer to day one of the event, Twitch staff allowed up to four high-ranked players to compete together. This gave many streamers an unfair advantage. Valkyrae criticized Twitch, saying:
“Which Twitch staff member do I need to talk to? I don’t understand how this happened. I actually need to say something. I waited five years to play at Twitch Rivals just for this sh*t to happen?! This is insane! Like, who planned this garbage?”

She said that the Rivals events should feature creators learning the game and not competitive players. Twitch users criticized the streamer, saying that competitive streamers deserve to play in the tournaments too. The streaming platform apologized for the situation and compensated streamers who missed out on the event due to the rule changes.
