YouTube and Kick streamer Destiny publicly admitted to having an open relationship with his ex-wife Melina Goransson.
YouTube and Kick streamer and political commentator Steven “Destiny” has long drawn interest from his fan base regarding his personal life. For those unaware, the streamer has been married twice and has a son named Nathan from his first marriage. His second marriage was with Swedish Twitch streamer Melina Goransson. The couple got married in 2021 when Goransson was just 22 years old. In December 2023, they announced they had filed for divorce.
One notable aspect of their marriage was that the couple was in an open relationship. An open relationship, or open marriage, is a situation where both partners mutually agree to see other people. Both streamers confirmed this during their interview on the Lex Friedman Podcast in November 2022. Melina explained:
“The only relationships I’ve ever done have been open relationships since I was like, in high school because I didn’t really understand like why wouldn’t you be able to like, do other things with other people but then just like have your main partner.”
She further explained:
“Not a monogamous relationship. Like, you’re somehow allowed like, in different ways, you can see other people sexually.”
Destiny also explained their situation, stating:
“I think broadly speaking you’ve got polyamorous relationships and you’ve got open relationships where polyamorous is like, ‘Oh, I’ve got like three different girlfriends and we all hang out or sometimes. Even live together or three boyfriends, whatever.’ And then you’ve got open relationships, which is like, ‘Oh, you know, you can basically hook up with other people and then you’ve got like your main relationship’.”
Why Did Destiny And Melina Goransson Divorce?
Speculation about Destiny and Melina Goransson’s potential divorce first surfaced in early December 2023 when Melina unfollowed and/or blocked Destiny on several social media platforms.
On December 8, 2023, Destiny addressed the rumors on his Discord server, confirming that he and Melina were separating. He revealed that she had been “obsessed” with another man, possibly hinting at the reason behind their split. Destiny stated:
“The last two months (and two weeks) have been a mindf*ck for me, watching her become obsessed with a toxic/abusive guy. (When I visited Sweden last, he gave Mel (Melina) an ultimatum to divorce me and then threatened to kill himself if she didn’t do it among 20 other abusive/manipulative things he’s done) and endlessly make excuses for him, so I’m out. Anyway, have fun with moobies for three days, good luck, cya on the 9th or 10th.”
In November 2024, Melina alleged that her ex-husband, Destiny, had an affair with a Canadian alt-right YouTuber, political activist, and commentator. She claimed:
“Last year, he leaked a message of mine that I sent to someone I thought was my friend. And, in that message, I mentioned Lauren. You know, I mentioned her because there was a lot of stuff going on, obviously. Like, this is something we already know. I don’t really know why people are speculating. Like, I think people can just put the puzzle pieces together, like, really easily. If they just look at, ‘Okay, these things happened.’”
Destiny has yet to respond to these allegations.
