What Does Ace Mean in Marvel Rivals?
The word ‘Ace’ is used in two different contexts when playing Marvel Rivals. The first is in the context of ‘Ace Kill,’ while the other is just an icon that appears next to your name. Both of these hold separate meanings that we shall discuss below.
What Is an Ace Kill?
An ‘Ace Kill’ in Marvel Rivals, or any competitive multiplayer game for that matter, is when you single-handedly kill the entire enemy team. If you’re playing a 5v5 shooter, getting an ‘Ace Kill’ means getting five kills in the round, killing all members of the enemy team. In Marvel Rivals, you get an ‘Ace Kill’ when you kill all six members of the enemy team in quick succession. Getting an ‘Ace Kill’ is quite a challenge as it requires a mix of impeccable skill, good positioning, excellent timing, and, quite frankly, a boatload of luck.
What Is the Ace Icon?
While an ‘Ace Kill’ signifies killing the entire team, the ‘Ace’ icon next to your name bears no connection to the former. Instead, this icon is used to represent the best-performing member of each team, and one member from both teams bears the icon next to their name. Think of the ‘Ace’ icon as the MVP-elect. The Ace from the winning team ends up becoming the MVP of the game.
Knowing the ‘Ace’ of your team helps you better strategize and play around their strengths in order to gain victory. The same goes for the enemy team, as you use the knowledge to isolate their best player and snatch victory.
