How Does the Atlas System Work in Path of Exile 2?
The Atlas System or the Atlas of Worlds functions as the central hub for Path of Exile 2’s endgame content. You can navigate through an endless grid of interconnected maps, with each map having its own unique challenges and rewards. The primary goal is to combat the Beast’s corruption by cleansing each zone you encounter.
In order to access these maps, you can use Waystones. Waystones are single-use items that you can craft and modify. You can insert these Waystones into the Map Device that is located in the Vaal Ziggurat. This opens up the portals to different maps. You can adjust the difficulty and rewards of these using Orbs of Transmutation and Orbs of Augmentation.
As you explore the Atlas, you will come across various encounters and challenges. This includes powerful bosses, Precursor Towers, and league mechanics. The Atlas is divided into biomes, with each biome having its own set of Waystones and potential item drops. Additionally, to enhance your endgame experience, you can also invest points in the Atlas Passive Skill Tree. This skill tree provides various bonuses and modifications to the Atlas, allowing you to customize endgame progression, encounter changes, increase drop rates, etc.
With multiple activities like Breach, Ritual, and Expedition at their disposal, the Atlas System offers a dynamic endgame experience in Path of Exile 2.
